You should be able to go to restore and restore it to the original settings. If it was not enabled then you would have to use the original restore disks you recieved when you bought the system.

You have to put in the cd that came with your dell, then boot your computer. It will boot from the cd and give you an option to restore your factory condition. It will take around 1-2 hours for the process to complete.

Reset dell celeron pc to factory settings

To do this you will need the restore cd or os cd that came with it. Put it in the pc and reboot. Press f12 on dell splash screen and choose boot from cd. Just follow the prompts from there. If you do jot have any cds you can use any cd that has identical os on it to restore to factory except you will jot get dell software that comes from factory. Also keep in mind that any of these steps will delete all data from your hard drive so make sure it is backed up.

How to reset settings

A persistent operating system error on your Dell Inspiron 1525 laptop requires more than just a system restore as there is a problem with a driver that a system restore cannot correct.

A full factory reset of the laptop wipes the hard drive clear of all data including existing driver settings and programs and installs the original operating system back to the hard drive.

Once cleared, previous computer files and programs are non-recoverable.

Press "Power" on the Inspiron 1525, and continuously press "F8" on the keyboard when the Dell logo appears on the laptop's screen.

Press the down arrow to highlight "Repair Your Computer," and press "Enter" to select the highlighted onscreen option.

Click your preferred keyboard layout, and click "Next" to continue with the laptop's restoration process.

Type "administrator" in the username field, click "OK" and click "Dell Factory Tools."

Click "Dell Factory Image Restore," and click "Next." Click the checkbox next to the hard drive reformat confirmation, and click "Next."

Click "Finish" to reboot the OS after the restore process finishes, which can take up to 10 minutes.

Hope this helps.

Sata Hard drive errors and Raid errors

See this answer

Reboot your system and hit F2 as soon as you see the Dell startup screen (the options are F2 for setup, F12 for boot sequence).

In the System Setup screen, do these steps.

Select Drives:
Make sure your Diskette Drive (3.5 floppy) is set properly (Usually set to Internal)
Make sure that "Drive 0: SATA-0" drive is set to "ON"

Go to "SATA Operation":

Your system proabaly came set to "RAID Autodetect / AHCI" - THIS SETTING CAUSES YOUR SYSTEM TO GO INTO AN IDE LOOP AND DOESN'T ALLOW IT TO FIND YOUR FACTORY INSTALLED SATA DRIVE.

CHANGE THE SATA OPERATION SETTING TO "COMBINATION"

Reboot - make sure that the boot sequence is set to CD rom before HD and make sure that the reinstall CD is in the drive. Setup will load, hit enter to reinstall XP. Your HD should now be detected and you should see the licensing agreement.

If you have your files backed up I reccommend deleting the partition and reformatting prior to installing XP, it will give you that option after the license agreement.

Once you have successfully reinstalled the OS, Dell reccommends that you change the SATA Operation setting back to RAID AUTODETECT / AHCI (or back to whatever your factory setting was) to avoid any problems with other IDE devices installed on your system.

What solution because dell notebook blank display after reboot

If the Dell logo comes up on the screen and goes to blank display, the problem is in the hard drive or windows files have been corrupted, remove the hardware and reseat it back in place, sometimes this will restart it, if no change! reload your operational system with the disc if available to factory setting. If none of these work the hard drive needs to be assessed for replacement.

It does sound there is a problem with the hard drive. However if you hit F12 at boot you will get an option to run the system diag on the computer. Let me know the error you get and I can tell you where the problem is.
