Bottom of picture cut off, most noticeable when station id comes up. This has been a problem since new, so looking for solution involving picture alignment. Does anyone know the service codes for alignment with this unit? Unit puts out great images, just needs minor tweaking to center or re-align picture. Was able to do similar adjustments on my brother's tube Sony HD but alignment codes are different.

Re: Picture cut off
No adjustment needed on these LCD projection. Your problem is in your setup menu. Your default is now is set ZOOM. That is why the bottom of the picture is cutting off. Go to Menu, setup and screen size or something close to that.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

A lot depends on what the TV station cuts off also. If they are transmitting a 5 X 4 picture, your TV will try an reproduce it giving cut off edges or top and bottom. It won,t fit properly. Hope that helps to explain it.
are you still having this prob? i am having a similar prob with the same brand of tv. if you had yours fixed please help me with mine.
i think it is the convergence ic. i need three ic but the distributer will nit sell no less than ten of them. if you or anyone need any of those ic i could let you some for the same unit price i bought them. posted 09/02/2009
The problem has been resolved on it's own. I'm guessing that maybe my cable company had changed the display setting on some of the stations. The picture of stations that I noticed the problem on appear to be within the screen.
On your remote control you should see a zoom or picture size button. Try changing this back to 16:9. I expect that your screen got zoomed either on purpose or by accident by someone. Some people zoom in the picture to eliminate the aspect ratio areas at the top and bottom and/or sides.
This should be your problem, just un-zoom the picture
There is not much for me to go on with your description but here goes,
I suppose you have a convential TV set with a glass picture tube and not one of the new types with the large screen slim style displays!!!
If it a glass type picture tube then the following assumptions are made.
I hope yopu have not shifted house recently and moved the TV around???
If you have its possible the Yoke (its a device on the neck of the Picture tube that controls magnetically the scanning dot) may have moved and only is letting you see half a picture...
This is a long shot but it could be the cause..
Now the picture is supplied to you by a fast moving dot of light (Black & White set) that scans from the top of the picture and moves very fast down to the bottom of the screen, then flys back to the top of the screen and starts all over again during this process the dot lights up the picture tube to provide you with
the picture you see... (On a colour set there are three dots)
Its quite a complex process and its all controlled by electronics inside the TV receiver.
If you are getting only half a picture then something is causing the dot to only turn on for the lower half of the picture during its write time to the glass screen,
You dont say if the half thats off is white or black, so there are many things that the service technician needs to know before even starting to look for this fault. During the dot doing its write cycle down the sceen, when it reachs the bottom and flys back to the top of the screen it receives a synchronous pulse from the TV station, and this TV signal is critical in making sure you see the same picture as is being sent from the TV station.
Sometimes this sync pulse from the TV station is very weak and so your picture may float up and down the screen trying to lock to the incoming signal.. this just may be your fault.. but you dont say if the half of the picture that you see is floating or not..
Your situation may be that your TV has partially locked to the station signal and your aerial may be problematic,
but then you dont say if its on just the one channel or all of your station channels. So there needs to be more analysis of your situation prior to a positive answer being provided....
Do your basic trouble shooting first, disconnecting satelite or cable box, etc. to eliminate bad attached components or cables.
How old is the bulb for this model. They are only good for three years of so. $300.00 part.
If the main Wega engine is out, look out, expensive part. Have a qualified tech look at your unit. It will pay for itself as the picture looked even better than new after repairs.
