Question about HP Pavilion tx1000z Notebook

1 Answer

I have a HP Pavillion tx 1000 and the strip on the right of the mouse pad that allows me to scroll up and down a page is not working. I run my finger along that area and it allows the mouse to move up and down the page so I know it's working, but it wont scroll.

How can i zoom out in a samsung loptop?

As you haven't specified which laptop you have, I can only try general tips. You can try to 'pinch' your touch pad, as in, drag two fingers from the outside to the centre.

If that doesn't work then you can try holding 'Ctrl' and scrolling down. So on a mouse you can use the scroll wheel, on a touch-pad try running your finger down the right hand side.

HP 2530p EliteBook - touchpad stopped working. Scrolling works except touch scrolling on right side of pad) and right button, but that's all. Wireless mouse works fine.

To access Mouse Properties, select Start - Control Panel - Hardware and Sound -Mouse.

Use Mouse Properties in Windows to customize settings for pointing devices, such as button configuration, click speed, and pointer options.

I have a HP pavillion DV6-1250us Windows vista home premium and i cannot get my mouse to scroll up or down? how do i fix this?

To move the pointer, slide your finger across the TouchPad surface in the direction you want the pointer to go. Use the TouchPad buttons like the corresponding buttons on an external mouse. To scroll up and down using the TouchPad vertical scroll zone (right edge of the touchpad), slide your finger up or down over the lines.

NOTE: If you are using the TouchPad to move the pointer, you must lift your finger off the TouchPad
before moving it to the scroll zone.

For my compaq tablet tc4400, the right side of the touch pad has a column of horizontal lines that I believe HP calls the "scoll zone." The problem is for a right hander as myself, whenever my...

Go to control panel -> Mouse -> "Device Settings" tab (has the synaptics logo to the left of it) -> Select your touchpad -> "Settings" -> expand "Scrolling" -> "One-finger Scrolling" -> uncheck "Enable Vertical Scrolling" and also uncheck "Enable horizontal scrolling"

If you don't have "Device settings" in the mouse setting window, then you need to install the drivers from http://www.synaptics.com/support/drivers

Touch pad

If you have the drivers for the touchpad installed then you should be able to run your finger up or down the right hand side of the touch pad and have it scroll the page you are one.

If it doesn't work then you may need to either reinstall the drivers or find the program that handles the touch pad settings (usually found in program files) and turn the scrolling feature back on.

Hope that helps :)

Mouse scroll strip stopped working!

Okay, try this.

(a) Assuming your touchpad is still not working, grab an external mouse and plug it in. That will work just as well.
(b) Assuming you already restored your PC to factory condition and it's working, then go to
