When cold, will not start with normal pull. To start, remove plug, pour gas into cyclinder, replace plug start. Will then run normal.

Carb is gummed up from the old fuel turning to varnish and clogging the jets. while trying to start, its trying to inject fuel, but its clogged and taking the path of least resistance (coming out the air filter).

you'll need to drain the gas tank and remove the carb to clean it out. if unfamiliar or uncomfortable doing this, then take it to someone to do a carb cleaning.

Can.t get carb to pull gas from tank has new lines filter and carb runs find as long as you pour gas down carb

There is a very fine screen in your gas tank that acts as a filter. Check to see if it is clean, also check the fuel line that goes to the carburetor. If very old they tend to collapse inside themselves.
Overall I think you are having a fuel delivery problem. GOOD LUCK FRIEND.

Why wont my sabre 17.5 h cv491s lawn mower start

bad plug (replace plug), bad gas (empty gas, remix to mfg specs, refill tank), improper oil to gas ratio (see bad gas), old gas, choke in off position, corrosion between plug & plug wire (under spark plug boot (pour freshly opened coca-cola on corosion then rinse with distilled water repeat if needed)) clogged air filter (clean filter or replace). if you have visually inspected & or tried all suggusted here & still no joy, take it back to store if it is new, or take to repair shop for maintance.

I have a murray 6.5 quantum 22inch blade mower that is a couple years old but was only used a couple times last year. It has oil, it's getting spark but it isnt getting fuel. I removed the air filter and...

Remove the old fuel from the tank. Change the gas filter if there is one. Get a can of spray carburetor cleaner and a can/bottle of fuel line cleaner. Spray carburetor cleaner in the carburetor where you put the gas ( remove the air cleaner) . Pour the fuel line cleaner in the gas tank with fresh gas and try to start the mower. Spary some carbuerator cleaner in the carburetor and try to start the mower a few times.

Craftsman 675 series 190 cc lawn mower Wont start

Take air cleaner off. Shoot some spray carburetor cleaner in the carburetor and try to start Try this a few times to see if the engine will fire.. If it fires or starts then there is a fuel delivery problem. Could be a dirty fuel filter, bad (stale) gas, a dirty carburetor. If it does not start with the carb cleaner, check the spark plug. It may be fouled. Check for spark - take plug out of head. with the plug attached to plug wire, hold plug with a pair of insulated pliers, and touch outside of plug where the threads are to the engine, while some one pulls on the start cord. You should get a bluish spark. If you get a weak spark use a new plug and try again. There should be a bluish spark. Make sure you hold the plug against the engine making good contact. If no spark at all, could a bad magneto.

Getting back to the carburetor. If you think the gas in the tank is stale, drain it out and put fresh gas in the tank. Change the gas filter.
The arburator may be cleaned by pouring a 1/2 can of fuel system cleaner in the gas tank and spraying the spray cleaner down the carburetor throat.

I changed my fuel line on my bolens push lawn mower and now theres no gas in the line. I tried priming it.

I would remove the fuel tank and clogged line . Then drain the gas out of the tank. You probably need to clean out the fuel tank. Use clean gas that you KNOW is clean to flush it. When you pour the old gas out of the tank, install a coffee filter inside a funnel on the can you pour it in. It will show ALL the debris inside the tank. If you are sure gas line is good , you may have an airlock (I have seen it) in the line prohibiting fuel from flowing all the way to the carb, but this usually only happens with the installation of an online fuel filterl There is a small screen INSIDE the mower's fuel tank above the outlet that may be clogged. That is why I recommend flushing it. Any gas filtered by the coffee maker should be clean enough to reuse.

Lawn mower will not stay cranked unless you keep pouring gas into

common problems to all older lawnmower, lots of dirt and dust the mower goes through and ages. I would first start by taking the carb apart and clean the filter with soap and water, allow it to air dry. also carburetor prob need rebuilding or replacing. Pick up some Carburetor cleaner at any auto part store and spay it down the carb, dont be afraid to spray allot in there and let it dry for 1/2 and hours. carb tend wear and parts need replacing just like any engines. 99% of the time lawn mower carb goes out before the engine will and common problems with all lawn mower. If you not mechanical incline or dont want to rebuilt it, just buy the whole new carb and replace it, fairly cheap easy to replace and will last you another 10 + years or more. www.briggsandstratton.com

Cant get my 11A086F062 Yard Machine to crank

How old is this mower?
They stopped using points on lawn mowers some time ago.
When they had points on them, they were under the flywheel.
You will need a puller to get the flywheel off.

Does it start or fire when you pour some gas in the carb.?
Could have lost it's prime, meaning, the gas evaporated from the primer bowl of the carb.
Take the air cleaner off and pour a small amount of gas into the carb. Replace the air cleaner and try to start it.
The diaphragm/fuel pump and gasket dry out also, they are about a $4-$5 dollar part if it is a Briggs&Stratton 3- 4 horse, which I am assuming is on your mower.
