If the dryer is blowing air, then I'm assuming the drum is turning. If this is the case, the following link explains how to diagnose and correct an electric dryer no heat problem:

This is an ELECTRIC dryer, correct? I ask, because you posted this under GAS dryers. Pay particular attention to the section that discusses proper ventilation. Most dryer heat related problems are caused by poor air flow due to clogs in the vent ducting. Cleaning the lint trap is not enough in most cases. You need to also check the ducting and dryer interior from time to time. Clogs in the ducting actually forces the dryer to work harder and causes the heating circuits to overheat to the point of failure. Not to mention...this can be a fire hazard! If you cannot remember the last time the dryer ducting was inspected or cleaned, now would be a good time to do so. Leaving a dryer in a clogged condition will cause premature failure of any parts you may replace.

To answer your question, "No", this generally does not cost a lot of money. All the heating circuit parts, combined, would cost roughly $100 or less (if you had to replace everything). This is also a fairly simple repair that the average do-it-yourselfer can accomplish on their own.

Read through the link thoroughly and let me know if you have questions. If you require additional assistance, please let me know before you rate the solution. I hope this helps you.

PS If this was intended to address a problem with a GAS dryer, please let me know so I can correct the diagnosis for you.

OUR KENMORE DRYER BLOWS OUT COLD AIR

It's most likely a thermal fuse if it's a gas dryer. very easy to install. If your dryer is electric, it's either the thermal cut-off or the heating element itself. If you need help with anything, please feel free to e-mail me. good luck :)

Dryer will run for a second and sound three beeps and stops.

Sounds like the door switch has gone bad., but your description is confusing.

First, it takes a few minutes for you to feel the air blowing hot, particularly when the dryer is in a cold garage. The heating elements have to heat up the mass of the metal, and any clothes in the dryer.

The timer design is such that it can not speed up (the motor inside wont start running faster, due to it's electrical design.).

I am suspect that the door switch has failed for some reason, because reading between the lines, I think you are saying when you release the Start button, the dryer quits operating. If the door switch is bad, then it will cause that condition to happen.

Kenmore 90 series electric dryer blowing cold air only

1st check the breakers
2nd check wiring in back to see connections are secure.
3rd check element. It would be burned in two.
4th check thermal overload switch which is located underneath top of dryer. Easy to remove top. Probably 4-6 screws.

Dryer blows cold air but no heat

The heating element is in the back of the dryer. Sometimes there is a small access panel that will allow you to check the terminals to the heating element. You will need an ohm meter or multimeter to check.
