It sounds like you need a replacement part. If you just got it for Christmas, I would take it back to the store where purchased. If not, I would redeem my warranty, and send it to Sony. If you can't do either of those, then you will have to buy this part: psp_3000_powercable_repair
i have the same problem also... i think the blue ray is fried.... i rang sony and they said if u have a recipt go back to the retail outlet that you got it from and they shud replace it for free... if you dont have a recipt you u wil have to pay for a new one but only half price.... keep in mind that not every retail outlet will do this... if they dont ring sony and they will send you out a new 1 for free.....

There are two possiblities one is that your hard drive on your system has corrupt data on it. try taking off your hard drive and playing Forza 2 if it works fine then delete all the information on your hard drive. If that doesnt work then refer down.
The second possibilty is an issue that leads to the red ring of death. There is general hardware failure going on. If you have a warranty with the store you bought it from i would suggest using it. if not you can call MS and see if your system is still under warranty.
There are a few fix it yourself manuals out there but if you dont know much about electronics i would let the pros handle it.
