My printer will not print.

It acts like it is printing. It appears to be connected. I am not very computer literate so I even tried the old plug and unplug. No luck

The printer driver is the software tht you have on printer disk.

Find the printer disk and reinstall software.

Start installation with printer cable unplugged. Then follow instructions given from software installer program.

Set printer as default when asked.

If you do not have the disk, you will need to download the driver from hp website.

Run the file after download as finished.

Printer says it is not connected

This printer has an USB2 connector and you need to connect it to the USB port on your computer. The USB connect on the printer is smaller that the USB port on your computer.
I sounds like you have connect the printer correctly because you have been printing.

You can download the Canon printer drivers from their support WEB site. Please click on this link and select your model printer to download : - http://www.usa.canon.com/consumer/controller?act=DownloadIndexAct

Communication unavailable

A quick fix for most communication errors can be achieved by resetting the printer and/or rebooting the PC. Simply disconnect the printer from your computer (if USB connected)> reboot your pc > unplug and re-plug the printer into the power source to reset it. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to your computer (if USB connected). Then try to print again once the computer fully recognizes the USB connection or when the WiFi light on the printer turns solid green (if WiFi connected.).

If that doesn't help, try the steps below:

  1. Disconnect the USB cable connecting the printer from your computer.
  2. On your computer, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes.
  3. Delete the Lexmark print object.
  4. Reboot computer.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box where the power cord is plugged into on the back of the printer, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reconnect it to the computer.
  7. Wait until your computer fully recognizes the USB connection. To check, go to Control Panel > Printers and Faxes. If you see a new Lexmark print object in the list, try to print a document to verify that the problem is fixed.

You may also try to update your printer driver by visiting the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/eREznk. Select your operating system, download and execute the file.

Mfc-7420 says paper jammed/ and no feeding paper -all faulse messages-no paper there jammed

This is a huge problem, not only with the MFC-7420 printer, but literally every printer known to exist! The best way to solve this problem is to look at where the printer is connected. If it's connected to your computer, it may be trying to print something from there still, causing the information that the printer is receiving to become jumbled up and confused. I'm going to go step by step to try to help you out of your printer misery:

First: Unplug the printer from your computer entirely. Then unplug your printer's power source.
Second: Re-plug back in your printer's power source, and wait for it to turn on fully.
Third: Double check to make sure everything is working fine aside from the non-existent "paper jam."
Fourth: Re-plug back in the printer to the computer, and cancel all scheduled prints that are queued on your computer.
Lastly: Retry printing!

Hope this helps.

Recently had to reload everything on a new hard drive and reinstalled the Z82 drivers and updated firmware. Printer acts like it is printing but does not print anything. Any suggestions?

do you get anything from the self test? Press Setup until MAINTENANCE appears in the display. Press ?ž?or ?¿until PRINT SELF TEST appears in the second row of the display. Press Enter/Select. The message PRINTING appears in
if that works then it is definitely on the computer if not then you know it is a printer issue. When you plug in the USB cable did the computer react as if something plugged in? Try re-installing the drivers. Make sure the port selected is USB

HP Laser 4L driver for USB port

Not all USB adapters are the same, you need the one that is made for your printer, I would try a different adapter before going too deep, because when you plug it in your computer should see it even without drivers.

HP Photosmart Printer, Mac won't recognize with USB

Sounds like their is not communications between your printer and computer. Could be a bad USB cable - swap out and see if that fixes it. If not it could be a faulty USB port on the computer or printer. You can check the computer USB port by connecting another device, but there is no way to check the HP's USB port. I would also check printer USB port for dust bunnies! If you're not able to resolve, I think it is time for another printer.

HP Officejet 5610 All-IN-One Inkjet doesn't print

First of all, have you ever been able to successfully print using this printer? If so, my first question would be, what has changed recently on the computer and/or printer that might have contributed to this problem? If you connected another device to the computer recently, it may somehow be interfering with your printer, either because of the physical hardware connection or because of the new device's drivers.

If you have never been able to print using this printer on this computer, the first thing I'd look for is what you looked for...connection problems. If everything is plugged in correctly, another issue might be a bad cord. Assuming the printer is powering up ok, you can rule out a bad power cord. If you are using a USB connector to attach the printer to the computer, check and see if the cord is damaged. It's very common to roll over a cord with your chair, damaging it. Even if it doesn't appear damaged, see if a replacement cord will work.

You could be having a problem with your drivers. You can try to uninstall and reinstall your printer on the computer. This will require the original driver disk that came with the printer. To uninstall the printer, you can follow the steps on this HP.com website:

Uninstalling Software in Windows

Of course, I'm assuming you are using Windows and probably Windows XP, since that's the most common choice, but I could be incorrect.

You can get all the uninstall and reinstall information on the following web page:

Setup and Install

Have you tried printing a test page? If not, see Step 2 of the instructions on the following page:

Wrong Colors

Printing a test page is a good way to see if the issue is with the printer or the computer/application. You might also want to try to print different documents created with different applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) to see if they all don't print or only docs from one application don't print.

Please reply with your results after you've given these troubleshooting steps a try. Good luck.

Printer will not print

Sounds like a driver problem we can prove this by testing printer disconnected to computer, press the blue button 5 time rapidly, printer should do a test print., If this works then there is nothing wrong with printer itself it is a problem with the way your laptop is comunicating with the printer, download and reinstall driver, but before you do delete old driver (control panel / printer and faxs, del brother icon.) then unplug from laptop and download and install connecting when softwate prompts you to connect it.
