Machine is only 3 months old. How do you get HP to own up to the problem and take care of it under warranty?

Got a laptop cooler; it's set on high speed. Didn't solve the problem. Will try the air blast. Since it is so new, I wouldn't think there'd be much dust. It's on a hard surface (desk), cool room, non-smokers, no pets. Yes, can hear the fan racing before it shuts down. Will dowload the HDD thermometer & see what it measures.

Finally got HP to acknowledge the problem. Sent laptop to HP. They had it a month, replaced the mother board and that seems to have solved the problem. Not had any random shut downs for two weeks.

Get a can of air and really blow the intake & exaust ports and ALL fins. A laptop cooler really helps with this problem but, you have to blow them out too.
Google HDD thermometer and download a temperature indicator. It will show you when things are starting to heat up. Mine runs between 25-33 degrees celcius and will shut down randomly around 34 or above.

Laptops are designed (by software) to shut themselves off as a protection measure. The most common problem is high temperatures. Do you hear your fan racing while you are using it? Do you sit your laptop on soft surfaces (like the bed or carpet floor) while using it? Do you smoke around your laptop while using it? These are common things that cause high temperatures on your laptop and will cause it to shut down. May not be your case but just a though. I would take it somewhere or open it up yourself(if you are pass your warranty time ONLY) and clean out the dusk with some air.

Hope this helps!

Either the BLACK INK CARTRIDGE is out of ink of it's possible the ink jets (they eject the ink onto the paper) are clogged/dirty. Your software under HP in PROGRAMS from the START MENU should provide a 'cleaning' cycle. How to Clean Print Heads is a link to help you with how.

Button keeps blinking

It sounds like it could be either the battery is going bad and not holding a charge or the adapter is. I have had really good luck with similar problems going to places like Batteries +, and large electronic retailers, and my favorite the small local mom and pop computer store; where I end up asking them If I could try one of the adapters from the floor model to eliminate if is a faulty adapter. Other then that I'd if its not out of warranty contact Acers online chat support at http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/service
