The only way to access this code is through your dealer, the stereo may have to be removed if the dealer cannot access the code using the vin (vehicle identification number) they will have to access the serial number located on the back of the stereo unit to get the code from Volvo. If you have the manual for the car look through it sometimes people write the stereo code on the inside cover.

There are three possible ways to get your radio working.
1)Call a dealer and they will give you the code. If for some reason they want to charge you for that code go to the contact page for volvo.com and enter all your info (year make VIN#)they will get back to you in a few days.
2)If you have a owners manual there is a card with the number written on it
3) Sometimes the four number code is written on the back of the stereo. So remove the radio and look on the back.
If you try to put the code in an after 3 tries you fail. The code will switch to OFF and they you will have to wait for 2 to 3 hrs before you can try again. If the OFF code shows up you can remove the number 7 fuse turn car on and replace and you don't have to wait.

if you bought the car new you should have the code. if not you will haft to go to a volvo dealership. bobg22

.Then please quote the MAKE + MODEL of your radio plus ALL the LETTERS and NUMBERS on any LABELS , BARCODES or STAMPED IN THE METAL CASING.
Also quote the MAKE of CAR it is fitted into.
Please note: Not all stereo codes can be calculated from the Serial Number


However many VOLVO dealers will give you the code for free if you have the car`s VIN number and radio Serial Number + paperwork

Radio Code 5162 had the same problem this is the code if not call dealer they will be more than happy to give you code,at no charge

All you need to do is contact your local Volvo Dealer and supply them with your VIN number and they will give you a six digit code for your radio

You can go to a Volvo dealer and they can check the code in the system with your radio serial number, and this should be free of charge.

If you need the security code, you need to call a Volvo dealer and give them the VIN number, provided it is the same stereo the car came with.  Most dealers will do it for free, if you can't find one, call Boston Volvo Village.

you have to go to a mitsubishi dealer and have them look this information up for you. for security you should have a card that came with the card that has the code on it. check your manual and glovebox to be sure but otherwise a dealers the only solution and they need to see you and the car in person.
