Where to oil this machine?

I have a featherweight II that has no manual. I use this for just straight sewing. I'm not sure where to oil this machine.

The hook should be oiled after ever 8 hrs of sewing, or more. For maintenance, remove the bottom cover, the end cover and top cover. Anywhere you see two metal parts moving against each other put in a drop of oil. Do not use 3 in 1. Use either Tri-flow or white sewing machine oil.
Avoid over-oiling in the sew head as it may drip onto your fabric.
Hope this helps!

Where to oil machine

Consult your owner's manual. Computerized sewing machines require very little oiling and should be oiled when/where instructed. Mechanical machines require more and more frequent oiling.

What bobbins fit the singer featherweight 117

The Featherweight II 117 uses the Class 15 bobbin. A 4-pack of the Dritz equivalent of the bobbin is available from Amazon here: http://www.amazon.com/Dritz-Plastic-Class-15-Bobbins/dp/B000Y3D1NG . Singer has a 10-pack of the bobbins here: http://www.singerco.com/accessories/detail/2075/class-15-bobbins-10-pack . You can buy a manual from Singer, as well. (See their Instruction Manual page from the Customer Support Link then enter 117 in the Search box.)

I hope this helps.

Can you give me instructions online (email them to me or point me to a website) for threading a Singer Featherweight II? It's my daughter's machine and she can't find the manual...I got ready to sew...

I'm not sure if the featherweight is listed here, go by the model number if there is one or have a look at a few threading diagrams until you find one that most closely resembles you machine. Hope this helps!

Won't stop zigzagging

At some time your machine was probably stored in the zigzag position. When left set this way they will lock themselves in. To fix open the top of the machine & using sewing machine oil (not 3 in 1 as that will lock up the machine) oil every part that moves or looks like it should move. After letting it set a while you should be able to work it back to straight stitch setting. I have had some stuck so bad this way I've had to use T-fal to break them loose, but if you do be sure to clean it out good and oil with machine oil afterwards.

My Featherweight 221 is ticking, ticking, ticking. It ticks with/or without the bobbin, needle or needle plate. What can I do? Kathy

Remove the bobbin case, put a drop of "sewing machine oil" into the area between where the outer shuttle is turning and the inner shuttle (the part that has the pin sticking out that the bobbin case fits onto.) Also check to see if there is a thread jam in that area. Do not remove or loosen any screws.
