Question about Mozilla Firefox

3 Answers

Uninstalled internet connection icon.

Had mozilla firefox so uninstalled my windows internet explorer. Have now uninstalled mozilla firefox and had no way of connecting to internet. I downloaded internet explorer 7 on other pc and installed it on problem pc, can now connect to internet but it is now running at a rediculously slow pace, 4-5 mins for homepage to load then only loads half of the page. How can i get my internet running properly again?

thanks

As bruxy mentioned, you might want to select, "Automatically Detect Settings" for your LAN settings.

To do this go to Tools>Internet Options. (This is from IE.) Now at the top select the, "Connections" tab. Now press the, "LAN Settings" button. Make sure the option, "Automatically Detect Settings" is CHECKED. Afterward press OK, OK, then exit all of your Internet Explorer windows. After you restart IE the new settings should take effect.

    Let us know what happens.

do you have a firewall on? did it (or did your antivirus program) ask you if you wanted to allow internet explorer to connect to the internet?

are you using a proxy server that needs to be configured in the connections settings in IE? (you can set this to detect automatically)

Ok...from the above comments..if it problem still persists...would suggest uninstall IE 7 and install the default IE 6 along with the WIN XP..hope the machine also has good specifications....should work fine...From above comments.....antivirus, applications tend to slow down the machine...try to upgrade if possible..RAM etc..paging////

If found Ok..then agin try and upgrade with IE7

I can't seem to successfully download Mozilla Firefox. Can you help ?

I would suggest that you first uninstall the old version for Firefox. In Windows XP, go to: Start > Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs
Select "Mozilla Firefox", and proceed to uninstall.

Then download a new version of Firefox (using another browser, such as IE or Chrome). The latest version is available at: http://www.getfirefox.com/

Then install the new version (click on the file that you download).

For more on installation, see this Firefox help file:
http://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Installing%20Firefox%20on%20Windows

Hope that's helpful.

HI lately for some reason one of my computers that have mozilla firefox wont load the firefox start page or anyother page. Also it keep saying problem loading page and that my internet may not be connected...

Hi,

Is this problem happening on Internet Explorer as well?
Also, what version of Firefox are you running?
If it's not happening in Internet Explorer, please do the following:
1. In Firefox, click Tools->addons, then click the disable button for every addon that you see.
2. On the same addon window, click the Plugins icon, and disable all plugins.
3. Click Tools->options->advanced tab, then click the Network tab, and click the "clear now" button to empty the browser cache. Then restart Firefox and let us know if the issue was resolved.
