Question about Toshiba Satellite L10 Notebook
I HAVE TWO MESSAGE ERRORS. A PROBLEM HAS BEEN DETECTED AND WINDOWS ( XP ) HAVE BEEN SHUT DOWN TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER. I DO PLAY A LOT OF GAMES ON POGO FOR LONG HOURS.THE PC GETS TOO HOT AND WAS SHUT DOWN. PC IS 2 YRS OLD HAS JUST STARTED THIS PROBLEM THE OTHER DAY. JUST DID THE ONE TIME I HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYING GAMES AS MUCH AND SHUT DOWN THE COMPUTER IF I FEEL ITS TOO HOT. THE BATTERY IS IN THE PC. SHOULD I REMOVE IT AND SEE IF THE PC WILL STILL RUN HOT. THE BATTERY IS NOT ONE OF THE ONES THAT WAS A RECALL. I AM HOOKED UP TO THE AC POWER LINE. THE OTHER ERROR MESSAGE IS VIRTUAL MEMORY IS LOW.. AND WINDOWS ADDS MORE IS ADDED. WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT THAT. THE PC DOES RUN OK.I DO A DISK CLEAN UP EVERYDAY .ALSO A DEFRAGMENT EVERY WEEK.. WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT THE REGCURE FOR THE COMPUTER TO CLEAN IT UP. ALSO HAVE A PRINTER HP 1610 AND A SMALL SET OF SPEAKERS HOOKED UP TO PC. USING A EXTRA UBS PORT TO RUN THEM. PROCESSOR IS 1.30 GHZ ,496 MB OF RAM ADDED RAM IS WHY ITS 496..INTEL (R) CELERON (R)M -SERVICE PK 2- VERSION 2002 WINDOWS XP THANK YOU FOR ANY SOLUTION
First you would expect a notebook pc to run hot so don't worry too much, as long as you here the fan cutting in, but try to keep as well ventillated as possible and hoover around the vents in case of blockages. The shutdown may have also have been caused by a corrupt driver. Secondly the virtual memory is what windows uses to start up applications quicker when you use the same ones regularly, so this means that the memory you have fitted is low, as your graphics will take the memory usage up depending on the type of graphical hungry games you run, as well as applications, so i would suggest fitting another memory stick, as you probably have 512MB fitted, so fit another 512MB stick to take it to 1GB of memory. As for cleaning up temp files and obsolete registry files, i would recommend Ccleaner, it's free and free of any spyware. You can download it here:- http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
