Ricoh Aficio 1035 from Networked Unit to Stand Alone

By teampeterhaw on Jan 29, 2009

" "
I purchased a Ricoh Aficio 1035 at auction from a company who went bankrupt. The unit was obviously hooked to an internal network and has a Equitrac Counter system attached. I want to use this as a basic stand alone copier/scanner. Is there a way to remove the counter and reset to a factory default, or, change the network setup to allow stand alone usage? When powered on, it flashes in the upper left corner "Cannot Connect w/ Network" "Check settings of IP address"
Then in a large error bubble on the screen it says "Set Key Counter"
I would love to be able to use this machine - any ideas?

- I do not have a network...the company where I bought it from had it connected to a network, but they are out of business. I want to use this as a stand alone machine, although, if I have to, I could connect it to our computer network or a single machine. Is there a way to disconnect the Equitrac Counter (that requires a login as well) and reset it to a non-network unit?

- When I select interface and change the IP Address, all numbers will change to 0 except the last - the IP ends up as 000.000.000.004 - and still does not work. By the way, I appreciate your time in helping me with this.

- I disconnected the Equitrac Counter from the machine by unplugging the cable from the circuit board. After doing that, the error code SC542 shows up.

- I got it fixed! Thanks for all of your help!~

What is the IP address to the gateway on your network?

There is a service code to disable the key counter. I'll have to look it up. If you are not connected to a network, you can still use the copier without being hooked up to one. That is just a warning message. You can clear it out by pressing user tools counter. Select interface and set all ip addresses to 0.0.0.0.

- The reason why the machine isn't working is because its looking for the key counter. To disable it press the yellow button on the copier. Press 107 buttons. Press and hold the clear button. That will get you into service mode.

I don't have the codes handy with me. I'm in the process of moving and my service manuals are at the new location. I'm waiting for a reply from another tech to find out what the code is. I should have it shortly. Once it is disabled, your machine will work.

- I was talking to another service tech on line and he was talking about service codes 5113 and 5120. Are those two options available in the service codes?

go into service mode using yellow key 107 and hold stop for a few second... press copy sp ... then go to number 5 = mode ... go to optional key counter and set the bit to 0....
after that is done you now want to reset the 542 which is a ricoh sc code for the fusing unit... still in copy sp mode open 7 = data log and scroll down to 807 sc/jam reset... execute....
if when you turn on your machine and it still comes up with 5xx code replace thermistors,
