Make sure you have the latest driver updates for your graphics chipset.

Also, have you checked your task manager to see if your system resources are being strained. If so you may want to optimize your startup configuration to eliminate unnecessary programs running in the background.

I would check for the latest drivers first though.

It would be better to install a graphic card.
As most of the games recommended requirement is that you have installed a graphic card in your PC.
Also try some troubleshooting steps given here;
Stop un-necessary background running services
Update all drivers
Scan PC with an updated Anti-Virus
Also use game optimization softwares like PCFresher that will turn your computer to gaming mode.

I have an acer m5802 what is the best video card I can upgrade to. Thank.

Acer Aspire M5802?

Let's look at the specs;

A) Intel Core2 Duo processor, or Intel Core2 Quad processor.

B) Intel G43 Express motherboard chipset.

C) PCI-Express graphics expansion slot that is the 2.0 version

D) 500 Watt Power Supply

http://support.acer.com/acerpanam/desktop/2009/acer/aspire/AspireM5802/AspireM5802sp2.shtml#

Just about any Ol' graphics card you desire. As long as a 500 Watt power supply is enough power, the sky's the limit.

Now,......are we talking the BEST?

There's a lot of pro's and con's whether everyone will agree with my choice, but I'll explain why I chose this graphics card.

It ROCKS!

A) 1GB of GDDR5 graphics ram memory

B) 256-bit interface

C) 336 Stream Processors

D) The Core Clock can run up to 763MHz.

E) The Memory Clock can run up to 3800MegaHertz

F) The Shader Clock can run up to 1526MHz.

G) DirectX 11

If you want to see characters sweat on a 30 inch or better monitor, this baby will do it easily.
Frame rate lag? Bahahahahahaha! Nope!

Plus the price. Best Bang for the Buck, IMHO.

Just make sure you have two slots available side by side. This card uses two slots in width.
Length? Your computer case is 180MM wide, 443mm long, and 373MM tall.

(That's 7.08661 inches wide by 17.4409 inches long by 14.6850 inches tall.
Or 7 and 7/8ths inches wide by 17 and 7/16ths inches long by 14 and 11/16ths tall )

The graphics card fits down the length of the computer. It is 8 and 1/4 inches long, (8.25),
4 and 3/8ths tall, approximately. (4.376)

Make sure you have at least 2GB's of ram memory though.

I have compaq cq60 209TU laptop. It has intel Pentium Dual Core M

Not much. The intel GMA4500M is not a very powerful graphics format. Most new games run directX 10 and some will only work with DirectX 10 compatible cards. The intel GMA4500M can run Direct X 10...but not very well. Most laptops are not geared for gaming due to high end graphics processors use a lot of energy and can really shorten a laptop battery run time. There are laptops with high end built-in graphics by Nvidia and ATI. These laptops can be very expensive and are very large. In your situation you cannot upgrade the graphics in the laptop and are stuck with what you have. Most new games you will need to run them in low res for the frame rate to be high and may need to de-activate some of the Direct X 10 functions to speed up game play.

I have compaq presario cq60 209TU notebook pc, do this model have pci slot for graphic card installation?, it presently has intel(R) Graphic Media Accelarator Driver for mobile, BIOS- Intel video bios,...

Hi youblazer,

That notebook does not have the capablity of swapping out the graphics chip set. I would recommend going HERE and make sure that you have the correct driver for your machine. There is an option that will allow HP to determine the correct driver for that card.

Aside from all that, there is a new option just coming out called "an external graphics adapter" Asus and Fujitsu are the only one I know of so far that have one, and it's quite pricey but, hey all new equipment is, and then it comes down in price.

Lastly you know you have an hdmi connector that if you wanted you can move the graphics from the laptop to your HD TV set for High Definition Gaming.

That's about all the options I can think of.

Good Luck!

Don't forget to leave a rating.

Thanks

Mark

Acer graphics card driver problem

Real Redkit,
My best guess is that you accidentally got the wrong driver. There are different drivers for different GPU's made by Nvidia. In the case of your Laptop it is a Geforce Go 7100.
Please try the driver at the following link.
http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_notebook_winxp_179.48_beta.html

If that does not work please comment back here and I will try to assist you futher

Intel graphics card

Hello there.

Unfortunately Intel drivers have some bugs in them which means it will not support Hardware T&L correctly. This means that intel graphics chips are not recommended for any new games and many old ones. Some Intel chipsets support more than others, unfortunately yours doesn't.

You can see here which chips support some parts of hardware Transform + Lighting here at http://www.intel.com/support/graphics/sb/CS-011910.htm

An entry level AMD/ATI radeon or Nvidia graphics chip would be more suited to occasional gaming on a laptop system.
