I have had that same problem over years with mine. If you unplug the power supply from the wall outlet (or the 120 power cord from the power supply) and then plug it back in it should all work again. Unplugging it from the back of the printer doesn't help

I have a HP Photosmart B8350. I haven't used it for about a few months. The green indicator light on the power module is on but the printer will not power up. Don't know what to do.

So the printer has no indicator lights on at the printer? If so have you verified the power supply is working and is supplying power to the printer. You need to check the voltage output with a DC volt meter.

No power to unit after storm and power failure

HI!

Its most likely damaged the Power supply and the main board! What people do is buy a new power supply and when they get home it still wont turn on!It will be cheaper buying or claiming one from the insurance than having that one fixed!!

Good Luck!!

Lexmark 6675. Power won't come on. Power cord

Hi,
your power supply (black box) is working fine if it has green indicator light on. Make sure you're plugging the power supply all the way in the slot. The power supply can be plugged in an incorrect position so try to double-check that you are plugging it in correctly. Hope this helps.

My printer will not turn on

Hi,
you can try plugging the printer to a different known working power outlet in the wall. If still not turning on, try to unplug the power supply (black box) behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in but the other end still plugged in the power outlet in the wall. The power supply should have a green indicator light on. If not, check any physical defects on the cord or the power supply itself. If on, plug it back in and make sure to plug it in correct position in the slot. Note that it can be plugged in incorrectly so just double-check the position of the power supply itself. Hope this helps.

  • If these steps resolved the issue , you do not need to continue troubleshooting.
  • If the issue persists , continue to the next solution.
Solution two: Check the electrical connections and outlet

NOTE: The power cord detaches from the power module. The term power supply refers to both the power module and the power cord.
  2. Carefully inspect the power cord for visible damage. c01733891.gif If the power cord or power module shows any damage, contact HP to replace the power supply.
  3. Disconnect the power supply from the back of the product.
  4. Wait at least 30 seconds, and then plug the disconnected power supply into an electrical outlet. Do not use a power strip or surge suppressor. c01733891.gif If the green light (LED) on the power supply does not light up, contact HP to replace the power supply.
  5. Reconnect the power module to the product.

  7. If the product still does not turn on, connect the product to an electrical outlet in another room, and then quickly press and release the Power button (c01602202.gif ) to turn on the product.
    • If the product turns on , the electrical outlet in the original room caused the issue.
    • If the product still does not turn on , continue with the next solution.
