My Iphone Just Died and no help from Apple Genius

I was listening to a podcast on my way to work. all of a sudden the phone went to the black screen of death with the apple and never turned on again. i was told by a mac genius that there's nothing they can do about it since i did not buy a warrantee. but any phone should last longer than the 1.5 years that I have owned this phone. it's still an amazing phone but has a horrible return policy. the warrantee wasn't even offered when i first purchased this phone till months after. apple this is karmic debt you are accruing. it's totally on you guys....

    I have a friend who has a first gen Iphone and her phone completly died. It does not even have the apple logo. She tried to take it to Apple so they could replace the battery for er and they stated that there was nothing they could do and got her to purchase the 3g. Is this some sort of scam with apple, let the phone work just long enough to get past the warrenty and then bam!!! no longer working so you have to get a new one? Sounds pretty fishy to me.

If you connect to iTunes, press and hold the home and power keys for about 15 secs. release the power button and continue to hold the home key until iTunes detects the phone in recovery mode. This is called DFU mode. This will allow you to restore the firmware. email me with any errors or problems.

I read that Apple removed the headphone jack, so how do I listen to music, videos, and podcasts on my iPhone 7 Plus?

iPhone 7 and Plus models have removed the headphone jack. So, how to listen to music on iPhone 7/Plus? There're three ways you can try:
1. Listen to Music with Wireless AirPods - $159
2. Listen to Music with Wired Lighting Headphone
• Audeze EL-8 Titanium ($799.95)
• Philips Fidelio M2L, $199.99;
• Audeze Sine, $499;
• Sony MDR-1ADAC, $399.99.

3. Listen to Music with Headphones with the help of Adapter
For the uninitiated users who take DAC lighting headphones too clumsy or expensive, three alternative solutions here:
• Apple EarPods ($29) + Apple Lightning to 3.5mm Headphone Jack Adapter ($9) + USB DAC (additional purchase )
• Apple EarPods + Apple Lightning to USB 3 Adaptor for connecting unpowered USB DACs ($39)
• Apple EarPods + iPhone Lightning Dock with DAC and audio out jack ($39.00)

Tip

Customize the iPod dock icons

Phone ships with 5 icons in the iPod’s dock : Playlists, Artists, Songs, Videos and More – for quick access. However, let’s say you hardly ever watch videos on your iPhone, but you do listen to a lot of podcasts. iPhone lets you change the default dock icons, replacing the Videos icon with a Podcasts icon.
To do this:
tap the "MORE" icon, then tap the "EDIT" button at the top left of the screen. You’ll see a list of all available icons; simply "drag an icon onto an existing icon" in the dock to replace the icon:

Tap "DONE" when you’re done.

The screen on my iphone wont turn on

Try holding the Home button and the sleep/wake button on the top of the iPhone for about 20 seconds. Your phone will restart, and the screen should turn back on. If not, I would take it into an Apple Store Genius Bar and let them look at it.

My iphone 3G fell face down really hard but had its bumper on so the screen didnt crack but it's just showing lines now and its a black screen. can anything be done to salvage the situation?

Hi Hiorbamy,
You might have just busted the screen. If so, you might be able to fix it for just under $26.00.
Step 1) Take the broken iPhone 3G to your nearest Apple Store and ask a Genius to confirm wether the iPhone is salvageable by simply replacing the screen. After the diagnosis, thank the Apple Genius, and leave.
Step 2) If the Apple Genius has confirmed that the problem is JUST the screen, order a spare one online. You can find the very easily by doing a simple Google Search for: "Pre-Installed Apple 3G Screen". You can find them for arround $25-$30
Step 3) Install the new iPhone screen by following the instructions that came with the replacement iPhone Screen.

My iphone went to black

Download the latest iTunes to your computer and reset the iPhone. Then re-sync it.
Reset

To reset iPhone, press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least 10 seconds. During this time, a red "power off" slider may appear and the screen may go black, but do not release Sleep/Wake and Home buttons until the Apple logo appears.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
