    Hi there -

I too have this problem (though with an E402blw) .. but after I got rid of the ice build up in the freezer - I noticed that the (convection?) Fan that sits at the back of the freezer had a blade broken off .. Sure enough when I put the thing back together it is still sounding like there is a pneumatic drill going off in there !! As the fan is mounted on rubber struts - is the fan running off centre with the blade missing ? - Is there any way of tricking the fan to start up with the door open ?

    Thanks for any help ....

Most of f&p make this noise its most annoying, but could also be ice buildup on the fan blades, creaking and cracking is normal as the pipes expand and contract is these thin foamwall fridges, not nice fridges, insulation has been compromised to lower cost, they work twice as hard at keeping cool

forgot to mention.... modified fan blades are avialable that are supposed to not produce noise or ice buildup, you need to see your agent

I have an E402 fridge (403 litre model with freezer on bottom) . I just dismantled the freezer back wall due to a bad defroster element and noticed that on the back wall of the freezer is a small raised "cavity" or "slot" that the black thermostat fits into nicely. In my fridge, it is above the Collins coil and a bit to the right of centre(closer to the wire entry hole). Hope this helps

Hotpoint FFA60 - Freezer Fan not working

It sounds as if the fan motor itself has failed, & without the fan, only the coils will get cold. A replacement can be obtained from any appliance parts store, or from Hotpoint...check the website. If you are not experienced in appliance repair, I suggest you call a repair person , as some of the fans can be difficult to replace, & it is easy to cause additional damage.

The freezer works but the refridgerator is warming

Hi, it sounds like you have a plugged defrost drain line. This is where the water goes to in the bottom of your freezer when it goes through the defrost (removal of ice from the freezer coil) cycle. It sounds like that hole is plugged and now the water/ice has now frozen in the vent that lets air circulate down into your refrigerator compartment. What I usually do in this case is to unplug the refrigerator, empty out the freezer compartment. Usually I also end up either pulling off the back panel or the bottom panel (in the freezer compartment) Looking for that defrost drain hole and thawing it out with a heat gun (be careful of melting plastic) or actually I use a hair dryer. I can sometimes do this also by pouring small amounts of HOT tap water onto it and then sopping/absorbing it away with a sponge or dishcloth. I repeat this until I get the water to go down the drain tube.

Amana arb1917cc fridge not cooling no sounds from it at all light is on how do i fix this problem ?

Good day,
If the lights work, and nothing at all is running, then it is either the defrost timer stuck in defrost, or the main thermostat in the freezer compartment has failed.

Check the timer first. With the freezer control in the freezer compartment set to at least 4 or higher, look for a small hole in the fresh food compartment. It is in the roof (top) of the compartment almost half way back.
With a small screw driver, turn the shaft of the timer clockwise at least a 1/4 of a turn. If it starts, then the timer is bad and needs replaced.
If no luck then it would be the thermostat in the freezer compartment that failed.

P.S. As with all machines, a broken wire could be the problem but on your model, is extremely rare.

RED TEMP WARNING LIGHT ON MOTOR RUNNING

I'm sorry to have to tell you that this sounds like a very expensive fault to fix!
Either your fridge/freezer has degassed (lost the refridgerant gas) through a small leak in the pipe system behind or inside the freezer compartment, OR the compressor (what you called the motor) has started to fail.
Either way, these are very expensive repair jobs. It's possible to replace the compressor within about an hour, but if your model is out of guarantee, there will be around a £50/60 Call-out charge and the compressor will cost between £75 and £150 depending on the model.
Alternatively, if the fridge/freezer has lost gas, the engineer would have to try to find the leak - this could be IMPOSSIBLE if the leak is within the pipework inside the back of the fridge or above/below the freezer compartment.
I'm sorry to say that it's looking like you may have to part with a lot of money - or say goodbye to the fridge/freezer you have!

Bubbling sound coming from the bottom of my freezer

There is a vacuum build up in the freezer compartment when you close the door. This can make the door difficult to open. You can overcome this by sticking a small lollipop stick to the bottom part of the door gasket. This will act as a vacuum breaker.

the harvest mode is started when the ice cube reaches around 14 degrees so lower the temp in the freezer or decrease the size of the cubes also make sure the fan vents in the freezer is unblocked. check the temp in the freezer should be around 0 degrees.
