Question about Sony BRAVIA KDL52XBR2 Television

1 Answer

Audio garbled and audio out of synch with video

Sony KDL-26M4000 since the start the audio becomes garbled when changing channels. Also the audio runs behind the video. The voice stops and the lips keep moving lke a badly dubbed movie. Either problem may happen once a day. Sony tech support is useless. The TV is six months old. Sony offered to replace it with a used set.
Also, I cannot do a reset to the default. That scares me even more. What's up?

Sony offered to replace my new TV with a used TV. Somehow, Sony thinks this is a fair exchange. Of course, I rejected that unacceptable screwing. I requested a full refund instead. When I receive a response, I will contact FixYa. Sony is the most dispicable company I have ever dealt with. They make a band of Gypsies look honest.

Need owners manual

Sony has the manuals for many of their products on their support site. For the KDL-26M4000, that site is https://esupport.sony.com/US/p/model-home.pl?mdl=KDL26M4000 . Click on the Manuals, Specs & Warranty tab. (Note: the /W model indicates the bezel color; the manual is the same for the /W, the /T and several other models.) Look in the left hand column for the Operating Instructions. There is also a Quick Installation Guide and other documents. The direct link to the Operating Instructions is currently https://docs.sony.com/release/KDL26M4000.pdf . If you wish to order a pre-printed copy of the manual, you can purchase it from True Manuals here: http://www.truemanuals.com/sony/Search.php?model_number=KDL26M4000 .

I hope this helps.

Sound on one channel from over the air antenna has suddenly become garbled. All others are fine.

If only one channel is affected it is not a problem usually with the set--it does not know what channel you are on---look in audio menu and make sure if set has SAP it is not on.

TV fell off stand and Broke... I have been looking for days for a Replacement Screen can you help... PART# 180261311 on a Sony KDL-26M4000

According to Sony, this television has been discontinued - you must call in to inquire about the replacement part by calling their replacement customer service number at 1-800-488-SONY extension: 7669. Sony claims to offer replacement parts on discontinued items for up to seven years after the date of discontinuation.

If you don't want to deal with Sony's customer service department, you can order a replacement screen at PartStore.com by clicking this link: http://www.partstore.com/Part/Sony/Sony/180261311/New.aspx -- Please be aware that this part is EXPENSIVE; it might actually be worth it to contact Sony directly.

Sorry to hear about your television - it's always such a hassle to find and buy discontinued parts at a reasonable price. I hope that Sony offers you a good deal on a replacement!

Hi, I'm trying to connect my ACER 5738 notebook to my Sony Bravia KDL-W4500 via the HDMI connections. I can get video fine, but no sound, it still comes out of the notebook speakers. Any ideas?

Buy an audio cable: stereo jack male at one side and RCA Audio on the other end. Connect the male jack to the laptop's headphones and the RCA channels to the audio inputs at the back (you will see the two channels - white and red colored ones).

55 inch toshiba led tv audio sometimes gets garbled. must turn set off and on to correct

I have a Samsung 55 inch plasma that has experienced intermitent garbled audio, sometimes very frequent (a couple of minutes between episodes) and long in duration (several minutes). Switching to another channel and back would correct the audio.

I ran the auto program channel function a couple of times and it eliminated the gabled audio problem, except for infrequent (once every hour or two) and very short (a second or two in duration) episodes of gabled audio.

I found a thread on a CNET forum on this subject and it seems that the garbled audio problem affects a number of Samsung flat panel models.
