Its a heating element and its in the back of the dryer...it could also be the limit switches that are bad they are at each end of the heating element. you have to take it out of the dryer and replace it

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

My kenmore dryer series 70 is not heating, i replaced igniter, thermo sensor, and still does not heat....there is no glow from inside please help....

Check the fuse Note: Gas dryer thermofuse is linked to the gas assembly and blows whenever the temp exceeds 350f rapidly. Remove all air restrictions15f9d55.jpgbefore replacing that fuse or you will just need to keep buying em.f8e11bb.jpg65c991e.jpg

Kenmore 70 series gas dryer does not ignite I chenge the coil still not heating

Check for burnt out glow ignitor. If okay then check thermal fuse and all other thermostats with ohm meter..... all must be in closed position.

you'll need a meter, check the ignitor, and the sensor,if these are good you have bad gas coils or gas valve, come back with full model number and check to see if ignitor is glowing

Kenmore 80 series gas dryer has not heat

most of these dryers have a little plastic plug on the front, left side. pop that plug out and look inside after turning it on. you should see a red glow. if not, then your ignitor has broken. if you see a glow, then the problem is probably one of the two little coils on the gas valve. these coils will sense if there is something to light the gas [the red glow] and open the valve - if the coils are bad, they won't open the valve

Kenmore dryer not heating

Check the following-- Gas valve coils Igniter glows, then shuts off without igniting gas - the problem is probably with defective coils (black, located on top of the gas valve). It is recommended to replace all coils (usually two or three) if found defective.

Kenmore 70 Series

The most likely cause is a bad ignitor part number 279311. It has to glow to open the valve and ignite the gas. You should hear a loud click when you first start the dryer. That tells us there is voltage to the gas valve.
