Question about Dell Inspiron 1150 Latitude D600 14.1 LCD Display-LP141X14 CD-ROM Drive
This computer was working fine then one day it seemed to BRICK.
it is giving me the following message:
Windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt:
You can attempt to repair this file by starting Windows Setup using the oringinal Setup CD-ROM.
Select 'r' at the first screen to start repair.
Try to go into safe mode and run a system restore on it to the last known date that you know the system was working properly.

If benwabnick's solution does not work:
This is not uncommon, a faulty registry hive (usually caused by improper shutdown, but can have many causes)
1. Boot from Windows Cd and go to recovery console, typ CHKDSK /R and let that run (could take 2 hours so be patient)
2. try the advanced methods outlined at http://www.capitaltechmd.com/index.php?option=com_agora&task=viewtopic&id=50
