Question about Philips 60PP9202 60" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television
NO PICTURE, NO SOUND. SOUNDS LIKE A NEEDLE AT THE END OF A RECORD OVER AND OVER AGAIN. POWER BUTTON LIGHTS UP RED, BUT THAT'S IT.
Sounds like one of two problems
1) Convergence chips are shorted....One quick test is to desolder and remove both STK392 chips....then power the set on. If the tubes light up the chips were shorted. You can get new ones from www.TvRepairKits.com
2) Another possible problem is a bad HVG - AKA the flyback.
Try the convergence chip test first. Note: On some Philips sets you can just unplug cable "1516" instead of removing the chips.
