The system tray in Windows XP is the right side of the small blue bar at the bottom of the screen that houses the clock and a few other small icons. You can add icons to the system tray for ease of access, including the "Safely Remove Hardware" icon, which allows you to easily remove hardware from your computer.
Turn on the Windows XP computer and right-click the taskbar. Select "Properties" from the menu that appears. Check "Hide Inactive Icons", then select "Customize" A new window appears with all of the icons currently on the system tray, along with icons also for some programs that don't appear on the tray. Click next to the icon "Safely Remove Hardware," then check the box "Always Show". Click "Apply". Safely Remove Hardware Icon? http://www.pulpfusion1.com/demotech/e_article000253202.cfm
The safely remove icon just tells you when no activity is occuring to the flash drive or portable HD so that you don't corrupt data while its writing to the drive. It still shows up in the explorer because it is still connected. If you clicked Eject and it says it's safe to remove then remove it. It might even be safe to remove if you're sure the device is not being used at all.
This problem occurs because of not ejecting the device properly when connected to pc(computer) via usb cable.
solution:connect your phone to computer via usb at the system tray you see a icon . right click on the icon.the device name appears on the new tab click on it.the hardware is ejected & remove the usb cable
Hi there i can help you new phones come up with an anti virus that restarts when detecting viruses but dont remove them and these viruses change place so some times whatever you press it restarts so you have to attach your phone to an pc/lap and check it for viruses but be careful for system files so cancle auto remove or heal and then check the viruses .
Its a common problem with the pendrive, in windows. some time it doesnot detect or not showing clearly that device. you have to check your pendrive manufacturer and driver details. and also check it out driver signing.
Do you have mapped network drives on your computer? If you have this
may cause your problem. When you insert the PEN Drive into USB and
the "safely remove hardware" icon appers try to right-click on it and
choose "eject" or "remove" (don't remember :), then pull the PEN
DRIVE from the USB and connect it again. Go to Windows Explorer and try
to open all your mapped drives, then the content of your PEN DRIVE
must be loaded into your Windows Explorer. This is happened sometimes,
because PEN DRIVE try to assign the first free drive letter after
your phisical drive letters, and if you have a mapped drive letter, the PEN DRIVE assign one of them.
