Partical incompatability-messed up whole computer-freezes,internet messed up-wont let me delete program out-message keeps appearing!!!

I, myself have had nothing but problems when I downloaded Internet Explorer 9! I got rid of it. The best way to get rid of IE 9 once you have downloaded it is to go to Windows Update, click " view update history", click "Installed Updates" and once they all appear, find Windows Internet Explorer 9 ( Under Microsoft Windows, which is below Microsoft Visual C & Microsoft Silver-light 1, among others ) and uninstall it! It is quite very simple and IS the only way to get back to IE 8 ( If that is what you had previously, otherwise it will default to IE 7. BTW, very easy to re-install IE 8! ). For some reason, once you start using Google Chrome browser, it is best to simply avoid Internet Explorer! I use Google Chrome & love it! I also use Mozilla Firefox! Sometimes we must use Windows IE since it is the browser which came with the computer. But I would avoid IE 9 and just not download it again once you are rid of it! No matter how much Windows/Microsoft tells you that you need to download it! Hope you have your computer running efficiently again! arjay8tch (Richard Holt)

Internet explorer 8 hangs on opening a web page

Thanks for visiting FixYa!

There could be several reasons why IE8 is hanging. If you're using Windows Vista / 7 you may want to upgrade to IE-9. Click here to download IE-9

If you're using Windows XP, you can try the following:

1) Click here to: Reset Internet Explorer settings

2) Click here for: What to do if Internet Explorer stops responding

3) Make sure you have Service Pack 2 or Service Pack 3 installed on your PC. IE-8 only runs correctly with SP2 or SP3.

4) Re-install IE-8. Click here to Download IE-8 If you can't get to the internet on your PC with IE-8, use another browser if you have one. If you don't have another browser installed on your PC, download Firefox or Google Chrome to a USB thumb-drive from another computer and download one of them to your PC from there.

5) If you've (either, by accident or intentionally) downloaded a third-party browser helper, there may be a software conflict causing IE-8 to hang. To check, go to your Control Panel and select 'Add or Remove Programs'. Look to see if there is a 'third party' browser helper installed. If so, uninstall it.

6) If you're able to get to the Internet at all, go to Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE) - download and install it. Click here to download. You may have something on your PC that MSE can help you with.

7) Make sure you have enough RAM in your PC. At the very minimum, Windows XP needs 512Mb of RAM. 1GB is better.

Hopefully this will help.

Download the installer for whatever version of IE you would like to use to your desktop. Next go into the control panel and then to add and remove programs. Uninstall the current version of IE then reboot and reinstall IE from the installer on your desktop.

You might want to run this. It should tel you whether is compatable or not and/or give you a suggestion as to what to do before or after download. Some software,ie, graphics card, itwill tell you to uninstall software before download of Win 7.

Every time i open the internet explorer a pop- up message appears the message is the internet explore has stopped working

most likely --
1- you have a spyware installed in to your system , which has messed up IE settings . 2- you have manually wrongly configured the IE settings . 3- you have installed a new IE Add On , that is not supported by IE . 4 you have updated a new hardware driver in your system . 5- you have installed a new un compatible software in your pc .
>try booting into Safe Mode and then run IE . to check for any driver or software conflicts . >scan your pc with a good AV and anti spyware . like Norton or Avast and Superantispyware . to remove any malware . >uninstall any new toolbars or add ons or any other new software . >try disabling IE in windows programs and settings and then re enabling it . >download and install a new version of IE from the MS website . >go to network and settings in control panel and reset all internet options ..
hope it helps ...

Your web application may be compatible with older IE only.
Use compatibility mode on your IE 8. or
Try to Download and install another browser e.g. Firefox. Try the web application on it.

Yahoo! Messenger is unable to download files needed for install

yahoo!7 messenger is unable to download files needed for installation. Please

check firewall settings and retry installation.
I found the answer its so simple, The problem has nothing to do with firewalls.

Yahoo instant messenger (yim) needs internet explorer 7 or above version to

enable yim to operate properly with the current yim versions. If you have an

earlier version of IE (I was using IE 6 coz I always use firefox and did not

have windows update enabled coz I did not want my windows operating system to be

revealed as it was copied and theredore not legit) So I disabled windows update

and kept using firefox, but even if you never use internet explorer, yim still

needs internet explorer 7 to operate without these errors shown above. I tried

to fix it for weeks thinking it was fiewall or such, but it just needed IE 7 so

I downloaded it here:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-au/download/internet-explorer-7-details.aspx
and even tho it says its for a windows server it still worked on my windows

XP pro 64bit and now yim is working properly, allowing multiple copies of

contacts etc, no problems at all now. I also downloaded firefox version 35,

which helps yim too coz its yahoo preferred.

IE 7

Yes you can upgrade your Internet Explorer to IE7 (assuming you have IE6 right now)

You can download and install IE7 from Windows updates or go to the Windows Support Site to download it at http://support.microsoft.com

Only upgrade to IE7. Do not download and install IE8 Beta. It is still in testing. IE7 will not cause any problem with your HP Pavilion.
