SOURCE: why does the malfunction indicator light and how

There are many reasons why this light comes on, you will need to have the computer scanned for codes, these codes will tell you what the problem is and with a little testing you can repair it, many auto parts store will scan it at no charge for you, just get a printout with the codes if you need more help just let me know what the codes are they will have letters and numbers for example code could be po300, hope this helps.

When do you change timing belt on swift 2006

The belt replacement is usual to at 60000 miles or 100000Kilometers for the majority of cars, the belt is a chain no need replacing
or

rubber belt type where replacement is needed after this mileage is done.

Do not hazard with this and go over the limit if its not necessary as this can cost you new engine .The damage done after the belt snaps is often more than a second-hand engine.

I HAVE A SLIGHT PURRING SOUND FROM THE ENGINE... WHEN I PUT THE CLUTCH IN IT STOPS... ALSO WHEN IM IN 1ST, 2ND AND 3RD GEAR WHEN IM ACCELERATING THERE ISNT A GOOD SOUND FROM IT!! BUT ITS FINE IN 4TH AND...

This would be most likely the first noise of a wearing input shaft bearing. It will only get louder, and eventual failure of the bearing will probably mean catastrophic gearbox failure. It stops when you put your foot on the clutch because the gearbox stops spinning then, and it is quiet in 4th and 5th because there is no side loading (as there is in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd) on the failing bearing. It wouldn't matter what sort of car it was, the gearbox should be overhauled as soon as possible.
