Gray background The background looks gray or dirty when I print. If I print labels in stages and feed the same page more than once, the background is too dirty looking to use.

Hi,

if you have a laser printer you may need to clean the printer or install a new drum cartridge, if it is ink-jet you will have to clean the bottom of the ink cradle it sound like you getting grey background from a toner/drum cartridge.

good Luck

Let em know if this helps.

I have one problem with hp laserjet P4014n printing all paper black. the background is black all but word are showing can someone help me in this

If your background is "Black" it's going to print it all black, change your background color to "Gray" and your machine will then print a gray background instead of black. Also note that when you print a black background your toner life expectancy will be no where your expected yield ratio is. Average yield is 5% for X (X meaning size of cartridge) amount of printed pages. If your printing a black background your utilizing 100% yield coverage. Not sure if this is the answer your looking for. However basic black and white printing with a black background will print the page completely black.

Hp lj100a keep pulling several sheets of paper through to print just one page print job but nothing is printed on any of the paper pulled into the printer.

If it is pulling all the pages at once, the separation pads are dirty or worn out. If you remove the drum/toner you should be able to see the feed tire that pulls the paper in to be printed on. You will also see small gray or black rubber pads, these separate the pages. You will need to clean these with mild detergent, but do not use alcohol. If this helps for a little while or not at all the separation pads will need to be replaced.

Hi, the printed pages come out with a gray film over most of the page

Do a "half test". Print a few pages, as the printer prints open the top cover. Pull out the toner and look down at the paper. If it has the gray cast, you have a bad toner cartridge or a bad transfer roller.
It could also be a dirty ground. Try vacuuming out the inside of the printer especially around the transfer roller.

Gray background where printo on glossy paper 130g/m2

hello

this sounds like a bad black ink cart, or the fuser rolls built into the printer are dirty.

you can swap out a black cart to test that theory, you can also just print a single blank page (no text or graphics) onto a piece of glossy paper and see if there is anything there after its gone thru the printer.

if the piece of paper has stuff on it it had to come from the rollers inside the printer.

service required, unless your comfortable changing out parts in your printer.

PSC1510 & Vista problem

The problem cannot BE solved. It's yet ANOTHER Vista screw-up.

Original Problem:

"No matter what I try - every page from Jarte prints out with an UNWANTED gray
background.
This does not always happen when I print from the web, make copies or print from
Microsoft Word. I ran diagnostics on my printer HP PSC1510 and it's fine.
Test pages print ok, too.
Please help - I had Jarte on my last laptop (Windows XP), it worked very well
and I liked it much better than MS Word."

I emailed Jarte Tech support and got the following answer:

"The problem you encountered is a bug in Windows Vista. You will see the same problem when using WordPad on Windows Vista. As you have noticed, not all programs are affected by the bug. The problem is occurring because you are using a Windows color scheme that uses a gray background color for text windows. Unfortunately, the only work around is to specify white as the background color to use for text windows. Hopefully, Microsoft will correct the problem in a future Windows Vista service pack."
