I have a Model PV-M1345 and it does the same thing. Ejects the tape as soon as you insert it.

Also can't seem to find a manual for sevice. It has been 20 years since I worked on a TV or VCR.

This happens when he strings are worn out or broken. It will not hurt to replace the strings of the VCR after some while.

I'm sorry, I mean the rubber belts. They can be strecteched out over time, causing bad or no movements of the tape reel. I'm sorry I wasn't too clear about this.

I rather suspect some damage has occured inside the VCR. You should look for plastic parts that are broken.

Sony SLV-640HF VHS VCR ejects any tape after a couple of seconds

While the tape may appear to be loading properly, it is not. These units have a known problem with the grease at the loading arm getting sticky. This means that the tape is not loaded properly and will not move through the VCR properly. This is detected as the hubs not moving and the unit will eject the tape to prevent damage. This is a simple repair for anyone that has done these before, but requires an alignment check. This check requires a special alignment tape and equipment.

This should be a labor only repair.

How to time loading arm cogs on VCR?

Most Panasonic VCR use a mechanisms with a letter. For example the NV-HS900 uses a K Deck. What you need to do is type the model number into google and search for which deck it uses. Then with luck you might also find the instructions for setting the deck up correctly. I got the K-Deck one free.

VCR ejects blank tape only

It sounds like the cassette is not releasing the tape so the machine can put it around the heads. This could damage the machine. Don't use it. A two dollar tape is not worth damaging your vcr. Throw it away.

Tape keeps ejecting - panasonic nvfj620

Is it only the Head cleaning cassette which keeps getting ejected, or is it happening with every tape you insert? Was the Head Cleaning Tape a little tight in the Cassette compartment? Did you have to put some pressure to push it in or did it come out with difficulty? From your symptoms, it looks like there is a gear timing problem with the cassette loading compartment gears. It could also be due to some obstruction inside. try shaking the VCR, and if you are hearing some noise, Open cover and check for foreign objects.

VCR won't push the tape down

The tape load mechanism has a problem mybe a broken gear. If u want to repair it by yourself, removed the tape drive and look for a broken part. You should be able to come up with a part #. Go to: http://www.diyvcrparts.com/cgi-bin/web_store/web_store.cgi Check out your chassis by the model number. or like always call for service. Good luck!
