Says I'm On When I'm Not

I Keep Getting: Step Off Me And Press A

My Wii Fit will tell me to step off the board and press A. I was not on the board and pressing A did not help as the message simply reappears. It seems like passing the body test and going right to training may make this problem worse (not sure).

I have the same problem. Any idea how to fx it?

I have this same problem, I start it up for the body test and it tells me to step off. Sometiems if you take the silicone cover off (if you have it on) will fix the problem. However I've doen that and it still won't work right, there's a quick fix for this in my case, all you have to do is lift the wii fit board off the ground and then press a, let it do all of it's jargon then put it back down on the floor quickly when it tells you to step on it and then step on it ASAP. Works for me, not a permanent fix but I think perhaps one of the sensor pad things hsa been pushed down too much perhaps and has got stuck, who knows.

I have this same problem. I bought mine new and put brand new regular regular AA batteries in it. Almost immediately after the "Body Test" graphic is displayed, I get a white screen with "Please step off me and press A." I have yet to stand on the board for the first time. I have tried every solution on this website such as all the turning off, resynchronizing, tilting the board in odd directions, and even picking up the board and pressing A. I still got the same message "Please step off me..." every single time. I am planning on mailing it to Nintendo this evening. I was just wondering if someone could tell me something I could do if I took the board apart and looked at it myself? I'd rather not wait two more weeks to get one back from Nintendo.

    Same as described.

Say step off when I am not on!

I managed to get my board working by, removing the covers from the feet sensors then placing the board upside down on the floor, then gently pulling on one foot sensor and pressing a, i continued until i found the one with the problem,
the solution i found was if you loosen the screw connecting the plate to the sensor very slightly the board will the calibrate and function correctly,
my board is still working without problems, hope this helps

    HI there.

You need to re seat the sensors.

I have written a great tip with video. You can find it here.

    Thank you!

The Wii Fit Balance Board is a very sensitive scale. There are four sensors embedded in the unit that must be calibrated every time you use it to ensure that it performs best for you. There are two sensors on the left and two sensors on the right.

When you first start up Wii Fit, it needs to ensure that the board is 'zeroed' out. It does this when you have it turned on and it says "Starting Up". If you step on the board before it says "Ok, Step On," then it will not properly initialize.

It is also very important to note that you have to go all the way out to the main Wii Fit Plaza if you decide to let someone else use the board. Each Mii is configured to a specific individual and is NOT capable of being used by any other person.

That all being said, here are some suggestions to try.

First, ensure that you have fresh batteries in the unit. Try this particularly if it's been working well and then suddenly stopped.

Second, if you have any sort of shag carpet, be sure to use the extra little foot pads that came with the Wii Fit Balance Board. If you have thick carpet (more than 3/4" thick or so), you may need to use some sort of flat board (like plywood) to place the balance board on for it to work properly.

If these suggestions do not help, please don't rate this solution a '1' as the problem exceeds the scope of what can be covered here. Please contact Nintendo through their website and open a problem ticket with them.

Good luck and thanks for using Fixya!

How do you connect a ps3 to a computer

Set up your PS3
Step 1: Make sure your PS3 is connected to the same network (via Ethernet or wireless) as your computer. You can check your connection by going to Settings > Network Settings.
Step 2: Go to Settings > Network Settings > Media Server Connection on your PS3 and set it to "Enabled."

Set up your computer (PC)
Step 1: Download and install the latest version on Windows Media Player.
Step 2: Go to Library > Add to Library and add folders you want your PS3 to access. All personal folders (Photos, Videos, and Music) are selected by default, but if you have media in other folders, add them.
Step 3:. Go to Library > Media Sharing, and check "Share Media." Press "OK," then wait a few moments for your PS3 to show up as one of the devices. Then select it, click "Allow," then "OK."

Set up your computer (Mac)
Step 1: Download and install PS3 Media Server (free). This will allow your PS3 to "see" your Mac.
Step 2: Connect to the same network as your PS3.
Step 3: Go to Navigation/Share Settings and uncheck everything in the Thumbnails section (at the top). Then, at the bottom, add folders you want your PS3 to access. You can choose to add your entire hard drive, but it's helpful to add shortcuts to folders like Music, Videos, and Pictures.
Step 4: Go to Transcoding Settings, and change the Maximum bandwidth to 14 or 15. If you have a very strong network connection, leave it at 0. If you don't have a 5.1 surround sound theater, go to the "Number of audio channels" settings and change it to "Stereo."
Step 5: At the top, hit "Save" and "Restart HTTP Connection."

Stream your media
Step 1: Go back to your PS3, and your computer's name will be listed under the Photos, Videos, or Music tabs. You need to be in the Music section on your PS3 to play music, in the Photos section to see photos, and in the Videos section to play videos. You cannot play copyrighted material.
Here are a few extra tips:
  • When viewing a photo, hit the b_triangle.gif button to view extra options, like starting a slideshow of images in the selected folder.
  • When listening to music, you can keep it playing in the background by hitting the PlayStation (home) button.
  • You can copy music, photos, and videos onto your PS3 hard drive. When viewing a file, hit the b_triangle.gif button and select "Copy."

The screen message says to step off the wii fit and press A. when you step off and press A the message comes up again

check what your placeing the board on it needs to be a floor that is flat and hard not some thick carpet ect. it probably cant initialize because it isnt getting a balanced reading. Or batteries are to low also could be an issue maybe your to far from the wii sensor or stuff is blocking it from reading and giving a proper signal.

I am having probelms getting the board to sych with the box please help !!!!

Simply turn on your Wii. Using the first player remote press the home button then go to the bottom of the screen and you'll see the controller sync screen. You should then see like a resync or something similar. Hot that and the Wii will make two ringing sounds. When this happens press and hold the 1+2 buttons on the remote and then after it connects press and hold the sync button on the Wii Fit board where you insert the batteries.

Balance board says please step off me and press A

Have this problem as well, what works for me is stepping off the board, lifting it off the ground until it begins to reset and then setting it down, obviously a problem with the corner sensors sticking.

I keep getting the message to "step off and press A" for the body test.

You need to step off the pad, wait until it tells you to step on. Then you push A to conduct the body test. If your pad is turned off push the button on the front of the wii fit pad then repeat the first steps i described.

My wii fit balance board says to step off and press A

You need to load it, stand on the board, step off, and then press A. I have a WiiFit and that happens. It expects you to be standing on it.
