Question about Dell 948 All-In-One InkJet Printer
If I have the printer fax mode set to automatic answer I can't get the system to recognize a fax vs. a phone call. It always answers as a fax. How do I set the system up to recognize the difference between a fax and a phone call and answer appropriately?

Try setting the receive mode to FAX/ANS. If you want the fax not to pickup before a phone call comes in, you should set the number of fax rings to a higher number, like "5" for instance. Set the answering machine rings less and the fax higher. The machine will usually record a message first and then detect a fax tone.
