Red line running down one side of my Zenith 50 in (Z50pg10 model)
I have only had this tv for a month and there is a red line with distoration on the otherside of the tv. I can see the rest of the picture very clearly on the otherside of the tv and its only in a small section on the televison. Does anyone know what the problem could be or should I send it back and get a new one

Re: Red line running down one side of my Zenith 50 in...
Its the problem of loose soldering joints of some components.due to which you r getting this problem.as the reparing cost of this problem will be negligible but the tv unit has to be opened to solder the main board.but the unit will loose its warranty because it is opened.so you just send it back and get it replaced its the product defect in your tv.it will get replaced.

Contact the authorized service center for Zenith. The main power supply board to your TV has damaged.

Plasmas are like tube TV's(CRT). Once the plasma tube breaks, air gets in, plasma gas gets out. And that's it. They are an enclosed vacuum picture tube. I don't know why people buy plasma. The newer LED have a much better picture. Rich people who swear by plasma, are ridiculous in my opinion. Again, if plasma tube breaks, thats it. Any wrong jarring can break a plasma tube.
Zenith Flat panel TVs usually only have two boards in them Plasmas have a few more, doing a
visual inspection of the power supply capacitors usually reveals swollen
or bulging capacitors.
If the capacitors look good, voltage checks would be needed to isolate
the problem to either the main board or power supply. Check for 5 volts
to the IR board (& or keyboard) , if five volts is present suspect
the main board If this TV has voltages from power supply , suspect the Z, X and buffers
Hi, Please check Ysus and Zsus boards for no picture/ no light in screen problem. Click ShopJimmy.com link to view available circuit boards list along with price info for this model. Hope this will help. Thanks.
it's your power supply that has gone. I had the same problem after owning my LG Z50PX2D for 2 months. The repair shop had it for 6 months. now I have the famous "POP & BLACK SCREEN SICKNESS" LG/Zenith should fix this.
I had one red line at the beginning, then another one the same red, then couple months and green one. I fixed it by replacing one of the board inside (140$) and the problem is gone. The same model PDP4216M. Any questions e-mail me at email@example.com
I would take it back. I know from purchasing an Insignia LCD from them a while back, the TV just died after about 4 or 5 months. They ended up offering me another TV or with store credit. I took the store credit and chose another TV. I also did not have a warranty. I was told since it was Insignia (which is a Best Buy house brand) that replacing it was not a problem. Good luck.
Technician just replaced the upper right (from the back) circuit board that conects to the panel. TV now works fine. I bought the display model 8 months ago with extended Circuit City Warranty for $1000 so I can't complain. This was covered entirly by LG/Zenith (nicest Cust. Svc. ever) so we'll wait and see what happens.
