Question about Koss KS3101 System

Blew a fuse.

The fuse on my receiver blew. I went to Radioshack and tried several different fuses, but they all blow as soon as I plug in the power to the wall! Does anyone know where I can get an identical fuse for this receiver?

Sorry I accidentally clicked on thanks for trying. I didn't mean to lower your rating, but I couldn't figure out how to change the score?

PROBLEM SOLVED? I think I just figured out a way to up my rating, too! "It doesn't work?" TAKE IT IN FOR SERVICE - PROBLEM SOLVED!!! I would accept nothing more than a "Thanks for trying". In fairness to you, Whitesox, I would agree that the FIXYA rating system leaves a LOT to be desired and improved upon.

It is likely a short somewhere BEFORE the fuse, not the fuse itself. Follow the signal chain if possible and test connections before this. If that is not in your realm of expertise to do hands on, let the repair shop you bring it to know that there is a missing capacitor or short somewhere before "this fuse." Problem solved! Hope this helps!

Why does the fuse blow Instantly?

Link for the service manual: http://elektrotanya.com/pioneer_vsx-305_405.pdf/download.html On page 50 of the manual (36 of the pdf) it says for the "Sub woofer pre-out jack (Not available on the VSX-305 model) If you want to boost the low frequencies, connect to a subwoofer power amplifier" Your model will not drive a sub-woofer with out another amp. His sub may be a powered sub?

Blows main fuse when power is turned on

Shorted power supply/module is most likely problem.

Sony STR-D565 fuse continues to blow

You could have a shorted winding in the power transformer. The diodes in the power supply can be shorted. Filter capacitors can short and send power to ground which will blow the fuse.
