You probably just reformatted or reinstalled Windows, and Windows doesn't have the drivers.

Find your motherboard's model number and go to Intel's homepage, and download the driver for your particular motherboard. Basically, it's a package that installs drivers for all integrated features of your motherboard. At least, that's how it works with my nForce motherboard.

Hi i have a 945 motherboard with xp but audio is not getting installed on it i tried to ac97 realtek but it is not working please tell me which audio to install and where i find it.

Go to the motherboard manufacturer web site for the current versions of drivers needed for your particular operating system. You may have installed original drivers (CD) for the original operating system the MB was made for. A newer operating system will need newer drivers to work properly. 97 is a common on board audio system. Check on "Control Panel/Sounds & Audio devices" and make sure you PC is set to use the correct audio option. If it is correct, go to "Control Panel/System/Hardware and look at the audio in the system list. If there is a yellow astrek next to it, it means that there is a problem with it. Click on it so it only shows the astrek item, right click and select update driver. It will search your system for a better driver as well as the Internet if the computer is on line.
If nothing seems to work there are relatively inexpensive audio cards available. Go to a computer shop and buy an OEM package (half price without the retail packaging). When installing the card be sure the power cord is unplugged. After the card is in your system will say it has found new hardware. Insert the software CD and then let your system get the drivers from it. Afterwords let the computer open the CD (autoplay) and install additional software such as user stereo controls design for the sound card.

My computer can't load...even to entering the bios...why?

First, figure out what CAUSED the problem. Often times, when Windows is rendered unbootable, there is a good reason. This can often be due to hardware failure (bad hard disk, memory or CPU for example). In these cases, the system repair function will not work. System repair will only repair your software.

I strongly recommend you run a disk utility on your hard drive before performing a system repair. You can find more information about disk utilities here:

Memory can also cause these problems. A good memory test can be found here: http://www.memtest.org

My realtek audio driver is not getting installed. everytime i am trying...at the end its showing a message install failure. pls help..

Hi,

1. Make sure your installation windows XP has been updated to service pack 1 or service pack 2 before continuing. Right-click on “My computer” icon on desktop. Select “Properties\ General. If your system does not include service pack, please update from Microsoft's official website. Connect to internet and launch “Internet Explorer”, click “Tools” on the tool bar and select “Windows Update”.

2. Make sure that the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” exists in “Device manager\ System devices”. Right-click the “My computer” icon on your desktop. Select “Properties\ Hardware\ Device Manager. If the “UAA Bus Driver” does not exist, install it from the download link below to install on your system (for some reason, Microsoft does not post a download link for this update anywhere on their site). Launch the sp32646 file you have downloaded from HP's website (URL below) and reboot computer after the installation.

3. If the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” is working properly, there may be an “Audio Device on High Definition Audio Bus” or "Realtek High Definition Audio" behind “Sound, video and game controllers” or an “Unknown device” behind “Other devices”. Please disable any of these devices. You can skip this step if device mentioned earlier does not exist in “Device Manager”.

4. Disable the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio” under "System Devices".

5. After that, uninstall the “Microsoft UAA Bus Driver for High Definition Audio" by right-clicking the device and select uninstall.

6. When finish with the above steps, click the “Scan for hardware changes” button by clicking on the computer icon with magnifying glass toward the top of the page. When the “Found new hardware wizard” is displayed, don't click the “Next” button. Instead, cancel the installation by clicking cancel.

7. You can now install the audio driver from the driver file that you have downloaded from the internet or from your driver CD/ DVD.

Thanks.

You need to install the correct driver for the sound device, because with win XP it can install a generic driver but it wont be working properly so if its a built sound on your MOBO you need to install driver for it from the MOBO setup CD.
