SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card. If the switch is already in the proper position, slide it fully the other way and then back again.

Remove write protection from micro-sd card

  1. Remove the Sandisk SD card from your portable electronic device. Ensure that the SD card can be safely ejected before removing.
  2. Locate the write protect lock. The write protect lock should be on the side opposite the cut-off corner of the SD Card.
  3. Disengage the write protect lock. To do this, gently slide the small switch upward, toward the top of the SD Card. The card should now have write protection disabled.
jQuery('.article ol .image').each(function(i,e){ var $this = jQuery(this); $this.find('img').error(function(){ jQuery(this).remove(); $this.remove(); }); });

Recently purchased an Aiptek IS-DV. It has

Your problem has a very simple fix. The camera which you have is not compatible with SDHC cards. It will only work with regular SD cards.

Your camera is incompatible with the later SDHC specification at the basic hardware level and so cannot format the card which you have purchased.

Note that SD cards are available up to and including 4GB and SDHC start at 4GB so you're not the only person to have made this mistake. In practice there are very few devices designed to use regular SD cards which will work correctly with 4GB SD; Aiptek only designed and tested the IS-DV up to 1GB SD capacity (see page 48 of the user manual), so this is the effective limit to the largest capacity memory card which you can use, if you try larger capacity cards they will either not work at all or will make the camera operations sluggish and you also risk damaging the card itself so that it will no longer correctly format. Aiptek never released any firmware updates to improve the SD compatibility on your camera.

I'm sorry not to be able to offer any way to use your current SDHC card but at least I may have prevented you making another purchasing mistake. Please return the favour by rating my answer.

The Sansa Media Converter (SMC) software is required to convert and transfer videos as appropriate to your Sansa or your microSD card.

I uploaded pictures, songs and videos into 1GB micro SD card. But in Sansa e250 am able to see only songs in it. am unable to view pictures or vidoes stored in SD card. please help me.

The Sansa will only show photos and play videos from its internal memory, not the microSD card. You can put music on the card, but not photos or videos.

Purchased a mirco sd card and its write protected. How do I remove it?

There may be a switch on the side of the SD card. You need to move that to the other position. Also, some SD cards come with software on them that allow you to write-protect them. If so, you need to disable this as well.

Memorex MMP3642A - SigmaTel format

A few suggestions:
1] I’ve tried using a 1GB sd card in the MMP3642A with no success. Interestingly, I can transfer files to the 1GB card when it is in the MMP3642A, but when I turn on the player to listen to the files, I get the sigmatel formatter error message. I tried running the sigmatel formatter, but it doesn’t understand the 1GB size. Apparently whoever programmed this braindead formatter program only programmed it for up to 512MB sd cards. Interestingly, I tried flashing this player with the MMP8500 firmware, and then the player does play files off of the 1GB sd card, but the LCD is mostly cutoff and only 25% of the LCD shows up. So it seems the only obstacle to using a 1GB sd card is this stupid formatter program. I tried formatting the sdcard to fat16 instead of Fat32, but that did not help

2] If you want to use a card with more than 64MB, you need to use the CD that was with the player. DO NOT USE AUTORUN! Explore the disc, go into the "products" folder, run the stusbmscformat.exe application. It will show a the drive letter for the player, click the arrow and select the next drive letter down, then press start. This worked for me, I hope it will be useful. Why memorex doesn’t address this issue is beyond me.

3] How do I correct the error: Reformat external media with sigmatel formatter? If you have installed the software disc that you received with your MP3 player, you will need to follow these instructions; -- From your computer, click 'START' -- then 'PROGRAMS' -- then 'MEMOREX' -- then 'FORMAT' -- choose the 2nd drive If this doesn't correct your error, you will need to return the memory card to the retailer for an exchange. connect your memorex mp3 player , then turn it on and click start .....i did the same and its working now.

I have the player, memory question...

I've had a 1gb sd car for two years or so and never had any trouble. I'd like to hear the answer on the question whether 2gb cards work, too, though.
