Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

For the last four days,i have been getting a message that reads "waiting for gps signal. the tom tom device displays a screen that shows 5th ave. in new york.

Hi,

I recommend a few things, one, see if it has a reset button, and reset the device. This could help that problem. OR two, and this one may be better if you have alot saved, poke around in the settings and see if it got switched somehow to "display" mode. In display mode GPSs show a given location and do not generally accept signal. Finally, if all else fails, get out the USB cord, go to the website, register the device, and download all alvailable firmware OS and map updates. This will probably fix it.

If you need more help let me know I CAN help with this problem.

Vertical lines showing. it is an Optoma HD70

If the lines present in the menu when displayed this indicates device mounting troubles. Possibly loose in socket. If you change aspect of displayed image do the lines move, if they do, its an electronics problem, if they are constant, and nothing is displayed in the lines. Tighten device in socket, or seek professional service.

Computer doesn't detect printer on installation

is it a usb printer? if so follow this:
Device Manager displays only non-Plug and Play devices, drivers, and printers when you click Show hidden devices on the View menu. Devices that you install that are not connected to the computer (such as a Universal Serial Bus [USB] device or "ghosted" devices) are not displayed in Device Manager, even when you click Show hidden devices.

  1. Click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, and then click Command Prompt.
  2. At a command prompt, type the following command , and then press ENTER: set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
  3. Type the following command a command prompt, and then press ENTER: start devmgmt.msc
  4. Troubleshoot the devices and drivers in Device Manager.

NOTE: Click Show hidden devices on the View menu in Device Managers before you can see devices that are not connected to the computer.
  5. When you finish troubleshooting, close Device Manager.
  6. Type exit at the command prompt.

Note that when you close the command prompt window, Window clears the devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1 variable that you set in step 2 and prevents ghosted devices from being displayed when you click Show hidden devices.
If you are a developer or power user and you want to be able to view devices that are not connected to your computer, set this environment variable globally:
  1. Right-click My Computer.
  2. Click Properties.
  3. Click the Advanced tab.
  4. Click the Environment Variables tab.
  5. Set the variables in the System Variables box.
