Hi, I just brought a new tomtom XL and want to use my device on my pc but it tells me "this function is not yet supported for my navigation device or operating system" further investigation using the help bar says i need to download a special file, what site do i need to get this file from? and what "special file is this? as it wont do it automatically. Many thanks Liam
I too receive the message "This function is not yet supported for your navigation device or operating system".
Tomtom support replied that "It seems that the error your are getting is something our developers are working on to fix. We don't have a date when it will be fixed, but they hope to have it working again in the next version of TomTom HOME which is under development."

Sounds like a faulty processor chip. You could leave it on until it dies and then charge it, possibly it will "reset" itself. If not return it to place of purchase for exchange or refund.
It is quite common tomtom bug. Do: 1. backup restore or
2. copy all original SD files to your new formated SD card. Restart TomTom and
see if it works.
Here is my information again here to help you, if you did not get it in other post you made. Thanks Mike.
Hello Here is some more information for you to follow to guide you step my step.
Device displays a white or red cross
If your navigation device displays a cross after you switch
it on, it means that the TomTom application is not installed correctly. Note: It is normal for the navigation device to show a cross while it is connected to the computer.
The solution depends on which TomTom software is used for updating.
Check which software your navigation device uses for getting updates. Devices using MyTomTom for updates
For navigation devices that use MyTomTom, reset your device. Devices using TomTom HOME for updates For navigation devices that use TomTom HOME, you can solve this
problem by installing the latest application on your navigation
device. Here is also a link that will help you more. This will answer all
your questions Mike
hi.
i suggest to try a soft reset first.
go tomtom.com
select support
search for reset
select softreset
select your device
do as told
when this is not enough search in tomtom for start up and read wht to do.
Hi. You need just "zip" codes simply connect tom tom to computer then find zip folder on yahoo or use this link http://www.tomtomforums.com/attractions/1563-zip-code.html first post , unzip the folder and copy on tom tom the problem could happen still the best way will be to get new software using for example tomtom home aplication but please copy maps on computer for example western_and_central_europe or just uk that will be only one folder also please make a copy of voices folder at the end just please format tomtom device reboot connect to tomtom home get latest navcore should tell automatically that you need navcore and download it install tomtom home will do this automatically and copy back maps and folder voices with zip codes folder as well. sorry for my bad english
