Question about Treadmills
I have a welso candence m5 treadmill and have lost the safety key (round disk that attaches to the machine and is strapped to your wrist) how can I get a replacment? It doesnt work without one!
Hi I folded up a piece of paper several times to make it into a small rectanguler shape and inserted into the slot for the key and it worked.
The replacement key doesn't need to be magnet just small enough to fit the shap of the slot is fine.Mine was a Weslo cadence 1000 (bought in 2002)

I got this tip from another web site. My treadmill is a Proform. I lost my key which was plastic. I broke off the straight end of a plactic fork and inserted it into the slot and it works just fine. Point is don't spend good money on replacement keys if you don't have to. Good Luck.

The key is just a magnet with a rope and clasp. Just use a magnet, that can hold a rope and put it around your wrist or put a clasp on the end of the rope. us a magnet with some Good power so it will not fall off.

The slot to insert the safety key is flat and wide. Finding such a magnet would probably cost as much as replacing the key! (About $10) The best thing to do is order a replacement key from any website such as treadmilldoctor, iconservice or maybe even Sears. Good luck.
