TV went into Demo Mode (whatever that is) and would not respond to remote. Also would not respond to onboard controls. Would change from one input to another when it decided to do so and would power on when it decided it wanted. Called Sony support and got some guy that spoke english so poorly that I had to have him repeat everything.
Finally got supervisor to send out a technician. Will keep you updated.

Re: Sony KDL46V2500 LCD lost it's mind!
Unplug the TV for a few minutes. Then start over again. Also, if there is a code try the first/last 4 digits of serial and model#, then 111, 2222, 3333 etc and 1234 and 7890
let me know! hope this helps!

not enough info , if your trying to change the tv input , make sure you select tv on the universal remote first , you either need to keep pushing input til it moves down to your desired input , or use the arrow key to move it down to the input. some require you to hit enter or ok to select , others just wait a second , it should change. if your getting the options menu when your hitting input , then the remote is not compatible with your TV / VHS / DVD...
If you get the input to change and your successful , make sure you hit VHS in order to call a command , if its still in tv mode , your only going backwards , make sure whatever your trying to control , the remote is selected to that device ... Good Luck ..
The Cable Guy .... hope that helps !!!
No other way. You should have its remote control to select inputs. I thinks that I've answered this problem, many times before.
If you post any more, please provide the name of yours with the post, so that I do recognize you and not to respond it, and allow any other to answer you.
Here I see this problem is posted by some 'Anonymous" person.
Whatever it may be, you can't select the input to your Sinotech TV; without its remote control.
Have you find out if the problem is with your remote control? For instance, you are able to control your TV using a Universal remote control. My 32" Vizio TV had a similar problem, initially thought it was related to my remote control but in fact the TV didn't respond either to an universal remote control of my SAT receiver that I eventually use to just turn on and off the TV. I've found out that the problem was with a little board on the TV located at the left down corner viewed from the front side of the TV and that receives the signal from the remote control. I found the board on ebay for about $5, replace it and the TV responded again to both original and universal remotes.
you will need the part number of the screen and use that for a general search on the web. you maybe able to find the screen in a local area to you as well with the same part number be warned they can cost a lot of money in some places., you could try to find a faulty tv same make and model on ebay buy it cheap and swap over the good part to yours.
Power ON the television (Use remote Commander) 1.Select "TV" mode (not AV, demo mode can't switch offwhen you are in AV) 2. Press the "home" button on the remote. 3. Select "settings" 4. Select "set up" 5. Scroll down to "factory setting" and restore them. 6. When it asks home or shop display select "home".
you can exit the DEMO MODE by the following setup.
Power ON the television
1. select "TV" mode (not AV, demo mode can't switch off when ur in AV) 2. Press the "home" button on the remote. 3. select "settings". 4. select "set up" . 5. Scroll down to "factory setting" and restore them. 6. when it asks home or shop display select "home". ok
Press Menu on tv remote, go to Settings and select Factory Reset and press enter button on remote, tv will reset to factory default settings and turn Off and On again itself, now select HOME mode instead of Shop mode to avoid demo mode and go by initial setup screen instructions. Above are generic info about Sony bravia tv, let me know model number of your tv if you do not see factory reset option in settings menu. Thanks.
My TV had the same problem and I have managede to get rid of it. The solution is very simple. This displays mean that your TV is in the " Store Demo" mode and any changes you make will last only for 30 minutes and when the TV is turned off the settings will change back to the normal. Whether you TV is in the "Store Demo" mode can be confirmed by pressing the "Info" button on the remote and you will see that "store demo" appears on the screen. To change this mode to the "home mode" you will have to press the "Volume button" on the TV and when the volume sign appears on the screen then you will have to press the "Menu" button on the TV (not on the remote)and hold it down for about 7to 10 seconds. This changes your TV mode from "store demo" mode to the home mode. Confrim whether the store demo mode has been put off by pressing the "Info" button on the remote to see whether the store demo sign appears on the screen. The store demo is set by sales persons in the shops so that any demonstratation/changes that they make while showing to customers will be temporary as the settings revert back to the original.
