Question about Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000 Web Camera

Windows Live Cam 3000

I bought a Windows Live Cam model 3000 loaded the program that was on the CD onto my computer. The icons are there. One says Windows Live and the other one says Web Call. On top of the cam there is a button that when you push that your contacts pop up those that you want to contact. The upper right hand corner is a menu and says actions. I drop down the menu and it shows View My Web Cam. So I hit that and then another box appears saying that no one is added to view your Web Cam Video. The contacts are there just not on here and want to know how can I get the cam going in order for the other ones to view me? Also I can't view me. I can see my image that I created in the profile of me and that is it. At one time there was a cam icon that when I hit that my web started. Now it doesn't all that I see is me. People have waited for me to start it up so that they can see. I put the e-mail address of the one that I want to share my image with and they still don't see me. I can view myself fine when I don't start any of that up but want others to view me and if someone out there can help me out wirth this that would be great. My e-mail address is down there.

How can i install my web cam?

Hi,If you don't have CD for installation, Use the below link to download it.

Set Up and Use the VX-3000 personal web camera
  • 1 Install the software using the included CD and plug the LifeCam into a free USB port. For desktop use, place the LifeCam on a clear spot on your desk that's free of other objects, including cables. The camera should not be more than an arm's length away from you. For LCD (or similar object) use, push the center part of the camera's base upward, place the camera on the LCD and close the base around the monitor to secure it.
  • 2 Open the device software by clicking the Microsoft LifeCam icon on your Windows desktop. If no such icon exists on your Windows desktop, click "Start," click "All Programs" and locate the Microsoft LifeCam program in the list of programs there. After launching the LifeCam program, look at the image that appears. If necessary, adjust the camera to more precisely reflect your appearance. For best results, try to center the camera image on your head and shoulders.
  • 3 Click the video camera icon on the bottom panel of the LifeCam program to begin video capture. Video will begin recording, and you will see a "Recording Video" message beneath the live video image. To stop recording, press the same icon (the icon will have a red square with a blue background during recording).
  • 4 To begin audio capture, click the microphone icon on the bottom panel. To stop the audio recording, click the same icon (again, it will have a red square with a blue background during recording). To snap a photo, click the camera icon on the bottom panel.
  • 5 Access any of your captured video, audio or image files by clicking the folder on the bottom panel. The VX-3000 also provides the ability to edit video or image files using supported software. After snapping a photo or capturing video, click the "Edit" icon that appears beneath the thumbnail of the captured content.

  • Hope it helps.

My Windows NX-3000 Web cam wont let my PC load

Normal 0 Did you connect the camera before installing the software program? If you did, disconnect the camera from the USB Port and reinstall the software program. When the program asks you to reconnect the printer, then plug the cable back into the USB port and it should function properly.

Hope this is of some help. Bud
