Phone does not ring or vibrate & cannot listen to music

My Razr does not ring or vibrate at all. If I try to change the ringtone or even listen to my music, I get a system error message "Because the audio device is busy, this file could not be played". There is nothing else playing. Any ideas?

Oddly enough, it did work or it was a HUGE coincidence! I took the battery off while the phone was turned on at least 10 times & when it restarted, the problem still existed. After my 1 yr old threw it across the room and I repeated the process... it worked! Now I cannot condone violence against electronics, but I guess I good smack did the trick for me!

I have the same problem which is why I have been looking for assistance. I found I had 13 missed calls and thought I must have put the phone on silent by accident, but I haven't. I have checked all settings and can't see what the problem is.

My iPhone 5c won't ring

Does the phone plays music without any problem? If you play music to hear it on the loud speaker, and there is no sound, then you probably have a hardware failure, (bad speaker). But if you get to listen to the music, then try this next steps to see if it can be fix.
  • From the iPhone's home screen, tap the Settings app.
  • In Settings, tap Sounds in the third group of options.
  • In Sounds, swipe down to the Sounds and Vibration Patterns section. In that section, look forRingtone. That displays what you have set as your current iPhone ringtone. Tap it to change that.
  • This menu shows you the list of all the ringtones available on your iPhone.
To get new ringtones, tap the Store button in the top right corner. This will take you to the ringtone section of the iTunes Store where you can stock up on new ringtones.
  • If you choose not to buy new ringtones, but instead use the ones loaded on your phone, the first set of options in the Ringtones section are ones that you bought from the iTunes Store or created using another app and have synced to your iPhone. The ones below the divider came pre-installed on the iPhone.
Alert Tones, farther down the screen, aren't ringtones exactly. They're alert sounds normally used for alarms and other notifications, but they can be used as ringtones, too.
  • When you tap on a ringtone, it will play so you can preview it and decide if it's what you want. When you've chosen the ringtone you want to use as your default, make sure it has the checkmark next to it. Then tap the Sounds button in the top left corner or click the Home button to go back to the home screen. Your choice is saved automatically.
  • Now, whenever a call comes in, the ringtone you just selected will play (unless you've assigned individual ringtones to callers, that is. If you have, those ringtones take precedence). Just remember to listen for that sound, and not a ringing phone, so you don't miss any calls.

In vibrate mode, phone continues to vibrate after being answered

The phone is in "vibe then ring" mode.

Go to tools then ring styles using the "-" at the top center of the keypad. It will be set to vibe then ring, press "change" alter the style to vibe, vibe then ring, silent, loud or whatever you like. That is also where you find what ringtone is used for the ring.
