Question about Washing Machines

No water in Bosch WFLI2440GB/05

There is no water going into my Bosch WFLI2440GB/05 washing machine, regardless of which programme I choose. I have cleaned out the water inlet strainers, checked the tap and all seems fine. I can't hear any noise from the water inlet valve (is that the grey box thing attached to the hose near the tap), so I'm guessing this is faulty? If so, can I attempt to fix this myself? I'm no expert in this field, but willing to try!

It appears your dual inlet water valve has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Bosh washing machine won't do any programmes

If it fills then the next phase is to agitate.
To do that the motor must drive
Can you hear a whirring sound from the machine if you get close to it if so then the belt driving driving drum may have snapped.
If not then the motor brushes may have stuck or have worn out.
Does the machine programmer advance by itself or are you turning the dial

No Cold Water Wash; Only Hot

When doing a hot wash the machine is designed to take both hot and cold water. This is because it can heat the water to your selected temperature but if the water coming in is too hot it needs to cool it down to avoid heat damage to your laundry.
Hope this helps & thanks for using Fixya.
