Follow these steps:

1. Turn off pc. Unplug mouse. Search for garbage or oxidization in ps2 port & mouse plug.

2. Uninstall mouse and install again with "Add new hardware" wizard.

3. If problem exists, replace mouse with new one.

4. Still not working. OK than Backup your Document & Setting and reinstall windows.

5. If you are unlucky again, replace the PS2 port of motherboard with new one.

This may solve your problem. If no-- replace motherboard.

To view everything about your pc i recommend a tiny freeware called CPUz. Download and install it. May be it will show you the correct information.

Keep informing.

How to connect all wires at hp xw4600 motherboard intel 775

1) first of all u needed to connect your power cable to the CPU at the top of back side socket

2) now insert the VGA cable into the VGA(BLUE Colour) port

3) now keyboard .>. if your keyboard is PS2 then you have to insert the point in purple colour socket which is upper side to the VGA port
(note: the box side should be face to left hand side)

4) now attach your mouse if it is USB mouse then just insert any of the USB port simply plug and it will start working
if it is PS2 mouse then insert it right besides to the keyboard PS2 port same as u insert the keyboard wire.

Maybe the port your connecting to is not working properly.Try connecting it to other ports. If you are using PS2 mouse try using USB mouse and connect it to your PC.

The mous don't working; i cleaned it,it working in another computer

try changing the usb port or if its a ps2 mouse may be its the problem with your motherboard.

so first format and re-install the windows and if that doesnt work then its the problem with your motherboard.
then you can buy one small attachment ie. Ps2 to usb convertor and your mouse should start working again.

PS2 KEYBOARD & MOUSE Not responding.

Try connecting one at a time, if you connect the mouse don't connect the keyboard, and if you connect the keyboard, don't connect the mouse, reboot each time and check which one is the culprit. One of the port or device must be creating the problem. Good luck.
