What is the proper setup position of the product?

The cooling fan in the laptop will pull in dust and lint that will reduce the cooling capacity of the heat tube going to the processor chip. Make sure the inlet screen is not restricted. You may have to open the case to be sure the entire air flow path inside the laptop is clear.

Hp laptop over heating

This could be due to where the unit is being used e.g. on a lap, bed or carpet, most units need the bottom to be clear so that it can cool, if this is blocked then it will overheat. Try checking vents to make sure they are not blocked.
Another possibility is the hardware is faulty and would need to be inspected by a local tech, if unit is still under warranty contact HP.

Well, first you need to take the heat sink off the cpu & take it a part, remove giant dust ball. Then put it back together, replacing the cpu "grease/thermal paste" with arctic silver or some equivlent. Depending on where you use this lapatop, you may want to get a fanned cooler, to put under it.

After removing all the screws from the bottom of my lap top it still will not come off something near the battery compartment is holding it, how do you remove the bottom

The bottom and top are held not only with screws but with little plastic tabs along the edges. You will have to start in one corner and carefully separate the case. Once you get one tab released, you can see how the tabs are fastened.
I would also check to see if there are several small screws under the battery. This is common.

The bottom of my computer gets extremely hot. what causes this? and how can i fix this issue before it ruins my computer?

For starters, don't put it on any soft surfaces, like bed, your lap, or anything of that sort. A laptop has small "feet", and when placed on a hard surface they elevate it so that there's some air flow from the bottom of the laptop case. If you put it on a soft surface, the material gets pressed against the air inlets and blocks the air flow.
If you work a lot with your laptop on your lap or bed or such, get yourself a laptop stand on which you would put it, or use a substitute, like a kitchen cutting board of suitable size.

If however the laptop is used on a hard surface and still gets very hot, it can mean a couple of things:
- the "feet" under the laptop have lost their rubber ends, which give them the appropriate height
- the air ducts inside the case are filled with dust residue, making it harder for the radiators to disperse heat.
If your rubber "feet" un-glued themselves, it will be hard to replace them with exact equivalents. You can try sticking some rubber/silicone self-stick bumpers used in furniture to dampen the doors.
If dust is suspected, compressed air can be used to blow it away through the air inlets and outlets (the latter usually are grilles on the side or rear of the machine).

The heat on the left bottom of my dell lattitude d820 is a bit too much. How could I solve this? thanks

The first thing to do is clear out the vents on the computer. there should be one on the back and one on the bottom. these must remain clear of dust and other blockages. also make sure that when you use the laptop on your lap that you have something hard to put it on. I got a cheap laptop table from Ikea for like 5.00 and that really makes a difference.

Just had my dv 9000 lap top in for repair... mother board cpu fault... now that i have it back the lights on the bottom left ( for the power hdd and on charge light now not light up... and i'm on skype and...

Sounds like the technician that replaced your motherboard and/or CPU didn't hook up the little ribbon connector that powers those LEDs or Speakers.

the mic itself is in the screen part of the laptop, right? And the speakers are in the "bottom" part of the unit?

Toshiba Satellite L15-S104 Gets VERY HOT

Make sure that there is good air flow all around the laptop, including the bottom. By resting it in your lap, you may be constricting the air flow. This is one of the reasons why laptops are now called notebooks! They really don't work well on your lap. When I use my notebook, I make sure that the fans have a clear path so that I don't have this problem. Try that and see if it works. You could also use a notebook cooler. They run about 20.00, depending on the type and size.
