Does your fault light even light up at all? Do you hear any noises coming from the furnace?

No Blink? no call for heat. Check thermostat. Jump out thermostat. Check the fuse in the cabinet as well as in the breaker box. Do you have an emergency switch that may have been turned off? Make sure the door interlock switch is closed and working.

Actually, since the lights are alternately flashing, I guess it is the 1 Hour Lockout error message and NOT the L1 Neutral Polarity Fault. The furnace has power but the pilot will not light.

"Neutral Polarity Fault" means that the wire that's supposed to be connected to the "neutral" connection in the socket isn't connected to "neutral", but likely connected to power.

In the wiring, the "black" wire is "hot", white is "neutral"

This is a Dayton gas furnace model GF9S120D20UP11H and i am getting a flash code of ignition lockout due to recycles. how do i fix it? i have taken all the filters out and washed them and also checked...

Usually a lockout code means it tryed so many times and then it locks out or stops. First, when a furnace is locked out you have to kill the power to the furnace to reset the lockout. I don't know this furnace but there are manual resets around the burner called flame rollout switches that have buttons in the middle that have to be pushed back in. Also the power vent has to come on when the furnace gets the signal from the thermostat. This is proven by a flow switch with a rubber hose on it. The next step is a 30 sec. purge, then the igniter glows or sparks and then the main burner comes on.
The other switches are hi limit on the front wall of the heat exchanger. That might get you started. If you have anymore questions rspiak1@cogeco.ca

On the furnace computer the red light blinks. i looked at it and it says "Lockout" what is Lockout

Hi,
Something has happened that has caused a saftey lockout of the furnace...it may be as simple as a power glitch or it could be a major problem...
Turn off the power to the furnace for a minute and then turn it back on...if it works great!!

If not then call for service..

Goodman model gmpn100-4 what does 3blinks on

Since most units do not have the same diagnosis, remove both cover panels and read diagnostics on the inside of the lower door.If it says flame sensor, clean it, with a dollar bill. Also, sometimes units will lockout. Shut power off for 10 or 15 minutes, and restart it. Good luck. If I had your phone number, we could do it a lot easier.

Try turning off the thermostat, and the curcuit breaker for the Furnance isside the Breaker box, wait about 15-20 minutes and turn the breaker back on, this should reset the thermostat and clear the lock-out, and you should be able to obtain heat, if the Furnance is displaying a code you will have to find out the meaning of the code and do the necessary steps on the furnance cover under troubleshooting.
