Disable onboard video of presario 5105rsh desktop pc

I am trying to install a pci graphics card and i can not seem to get the onboard video disabled properly. it has an old bios that the only video option is the memory size (up to 32MB). I put the video memory at disabled but that didn't work either.

I found the setting to disable the onboard video, but, when I restart the computer it still uses the onboard connector. I can not for the life of me figure out why it will not switch to the pci slot instead. I have used the slot next to the agp slot as well as the other three slots. Still nothing. It will not give a signal to either video when the pci card is inserted.

I AM REPLACEING THE VIDEO CARD NEED TO NO WITCH ONE TP DISABLE BEFORE I REMOVE THE VIDEO CARD TO INSTALL THE NEW ONE

Before disabling the video card, restart the computer and enter the BIOS settings. Often there is also a setting in BIOS on newer boards that allows the user to set either a PCI card or AGP card as the primary video device. Make sure this is set to your video card, which in your case would be PCI-E Automatic. Power down the computer, plug the VGI cable into the new graphics card and turn the computer on. You should be up and running in a matter of seconds. If you don't have video, turn the computer off by holding the power button in until the computer shuts down. Remove the new card and return VGI cable to original location. Restart the computer and use the driver installation disk that came with the new card. Install the drivers. Shut down the computer and try again with the new card.
NOTE: With the BIOS settings to PCI-E Automatic, the computer will check if a card is installed in the PCI-E slot before going to the integrated graphics. Do not remove the drivers for the integrated graphics, you may need to reuse it at a later time.

My integrated motherboard graphic card is damaged and i am installing a new graphic card but i need to disable any built-in graphic capabilities on the motherboard. can u please help?

Enter the bios and disable the onboard video card. If that is not an option, then there should be a setting for the video to boot to AGP or PCI. Change to PCI.

Problem with onboard video of a compaq sr2032x

The onboard video card is actually set to secondary when you plug in a PCI or PCI-E video card. If no video image is showing then there may be further damage inside the mother board.

Emachine T6216 onboard video is shot (nothing on known good monitor) Have installed new PCI-Ex16 graphics care. Need to disable onboard video. Is there a jumper on motherboard?

Have you tried entering BIOS? I beliveve that you have to press and hold F1 during boot to enter BIOS. Once in there you should be able to disable onboard video card.

What is a good video card to use in a Compaq Presario SE1110NX? The onboard video will not handle newer graphics.

If you need just an basic card for video then any card with over 64Mb will do.
if you need something for gaming or high graphics then go with something over 128-256MB.
Of course if you are going with something that demands more video memory...once you get the card of your choice installed then disable the onboard video to give memory back to the computer.
Go into BIOS (Setup menu from bootup) and disable onboard video.
I would also add more memory to the computer...max it out if you can ...especially if you will be doing games.

I have a hp presario SR5440AN and am trying to find out if i can use a pci express graphic card in it

Yes you can, if your computer has an AGP slot (advance graphic port) then it would be better to use a AGP graphics card instead on a PCI graphics card.
I can't remember if the Presario has an onboard graphics controller on the motherboard, if it has and you install a AGP or PCI graphics card, you may need to disable the onboard graphics controller in the BIOS.

I have an acer aspire m1610, I'm desperately trying to disable the onboard video card in order to add a geforce 8500 but there's no way to disable the onboard video card via the bios and the computer wont...

Are You sure the graphics card is not defect?
When I installed a graphics card instead of the onboard
circuit, the SIS Mirage was disabeled automatically.
I have installation CD for the graphics, of course.
Also, I thought that disabeling devices could be done
through the control panel, "hardware devices".
