You didnt supply the Make ,Model of computer or the OS you are using? I would say you have to many startup and running processes. Without the OS I will give a Win 7 solution: http://www.techrepublic.com/blog/10things/10-ways-to-speed-up-windows-7/3332 Download these two freeware programs 1, MALWAREBYTES at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/ IN the install UNCHECK the TRIAL PRO version, you want the freeware version. Runn a FULL Scan, Delete ALL results, reboot. 2, CCLEANER at : http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/ This freeware program will remove the junk from your computer , freeing up disk space. In the TOOLS section, STARTUP section, disables ALL unnessary startup programs, UNINSTALL ALL Toolbar from your broswer, they kill speed.

SOURCE: amd sempron (tm) processor 2800+

who manufactured your computer? Go to that company's web site for drivers for the computer. for peripheral devices, the processor normally doesn't affect your driver needs, it's all operating system dependent.

SOURCE: i have 1gb ddr2 ram

Goto BIOS of your computer and enable " QUICK BOOT" it will solve your problem. Plus i would personally recommend you to Format your C:\ Drive and reinstall windows (Windows XP SP2 is the best option for fast performance). After you install Windows i would also recommend you to Install any Anti-Virus and Scan your computer for viruses.

Thank you!

I have 2 gb of ram, task manager is displaying 85% of usage of ram But there are little programs are running in the background so is my memory is being leaking

You can't check task MGR, you need to look at resource monitor in control panel under admin tools. Click on commit, this will bring what is using the most memory to the top. Unless you have, Avira, Bitdefender,
Gdata, Fsecure, Norton, Avast, you should go to FSecure and use the free online scanner. Malware can be running sucking up memory.

Greetings. I wanna upgrade my processor from amd sempron 3200+ 1.8 ghz to athlon 2 x2 260 processor. But when I put the athlon 2 x2 260 proc, it didnt work.

Did you check to see if it would handle that type of upgrade? Maybe that's your problem, it's not compatible. Research and see if it can handle it, then we can find a solution if it can.

Adding more ram

Hello, I am the technician that will be assisting you today. My name is Norman-Wynne Damstra. Welcome to Fixya, Judy Hartzell.

RAM can be increased to the maximum supported by your operating system.

Windows 32bit: maximum that it can make use of is 3.85GB of RAM.
Windows 64bit: maximum that it can make use of is Over 24GB of RAM.

Find your version including bit by checking your computer specifications. Right click on Computer/My Computer in the Start menu and click properties.
Another way is to check what is written on the Windows CD that came with your computer.

As far a mainboard limit supported is concerned, rule of thumb is 2GB per Slot. Therefore if you have two slots 2X2GB should work.

You will want to install the fastest RAM modules possible in your computer system. DDR3 1333MHz will do fine, both modules should be the same frequency.

As a note your Processor is the single core CPU from AMD, for a performance upgrade it may be better to upgrade the CPU to an AMD Athlon2 X2 250.

Take care!

Will windows xp supported in amd sempron 145?

No it should not.

However your post does have one confusing detail - XP when installed does not reside on the motherboard but on a Hard Disk Drive. Parts of it will be loaded into memory when you boot up the PC.

If you mean that you are also installing a new Gigabyte MB under an existing installation of XP, you will probably still need the XP system disk for a reinstall of XP as it may not recognise the new MB.

If you are newly installing XP in an existing PC with the specs you mention, it should be ideal. It is best to have enough memory on board, at least 1 Gb.

Hi ,
I assume you are under Windows XP but this will also work under Windows 7 32 bit .
You can insert a 100GB HDD without any problem . A higher capacity is risky with your type of machine and could lead to a fatal read error , meaning you couldn't boot your unit anymore .
Under a 32 bit XP system , 2GB ram is the max.
I don't recommend changing the processor with the motherboard , you could encounter conflictual issues with the rest of the unit .
Buy yourself a new pc equiped with a I5 or better with a I7 processor running under W 7 64-bit is the solution but they still are expensive .
Best regards .

I want to upgrade from a AMD Sempron processor 2800+ 1.6GHz 192MB to a faster AMD processor with more RAM. I have an Acer 3002LC laptop. Can you advise me what CPU will support this...

My advice to you is to purchase a faster/newer laptop.

A new processor plus labour to install the CPU will cost a substantial amount of money and the performance gain will be marginal. Also RAM bottle neck come into affect as 192mb of RAM is not going to cut it, now-days you need at least 2GB of it. I myself prefer AMD their new AMD Athlon 2 X2 CPUs perform really well.
