the moving ink frame is probably pointing to a symbol such as replace color ink( three dots on ink cartridge picture). Replace color ink. You are probably printing your black and white documents with colored ink--always select black or greyscale.

I had the same problem and the following worked for me: I used a cotton swab with alcohol to clean contact points (copper colored dots) on the back of the ink cartridges themselves. I also gently cleaned the brass-colored pins in the cartridge slots. Hope this solves your problem.

Replaced cartridges and the cyan/blue ink does not print ... it is a genuine HP cartridge... could the blue ink be dried up, what can I do... using a Macintosh

Hi,

Usually genuine Hp catridge does not dry up until and unless you might have kept it open for many weeks and never used.

If that's the case, sorry to be a bearer of bad news, you need to replace catridge.

Thanks.

HP Deskjet 940c keeps saying it's out of paper, won't print

I have the same problem. In the error message box is a Cancel button.
If I don't click the Cancel then the print goes through just fine and I click Cancel when the print is finished.

Mechanism Error - Print Cradle won't move! - HP 5650

This "plastic strip" is called the "carriage encoder strip". This strip dictates the timing of the carriage assembly. If the end slots aren't broken, you can re-attach it. Otherwise, you'll need to replace it. They are about $10.
