Deleted Third-Party Applications still show up on my home screen

After downloading a few applications, i realized that my blackberry was taking forever to load, and often froze. I thought it might have been a lack of memory space so i tried to delete the applications. I did everything i was supposed to do; Options, Advanced Options, Applications... (scrolled to the application)... Menu, Delete. I did that for two other applications then turned off my phone and turned it back on. When i looked at my homescreen, the applications were still there and were working fine. But when i go to the application list, they don't show up. What did I do wrong?
