Pssword problem Hi Well I was wondering if you could help me out with my sony psp. I bought it used from a friend and he forgot the security password so now I can't get on to the internet. So wat my question really is if you or anyone you know could help me out on finding the password. So if u can please let me know becuase i really need it.

Yes '4.21' is the PSP's preloaded firmware. You are wanting Custom Firmware (CFW), so you can avoid paying for the expensive games, I guess.
This is an extremely fraught process involving hacking the PSP's battery, downloading files like POPSLoader and CXMB which are, in turn, difficult to find, and perilously difficult to install without bricking your PSP, then you need to use 'Recovery' and 'CWCheat', and this is just the process of readying the PSP for use..
Then you have to be able to get games, and get them onto your machine. This is another process with many careful steps..

I suggest you go and find a PSP-modding forum and look at walkthroughs of the entire process before you even begin thinking about tackling this yourself. And if you still think it's possible for a PSP newbie to attempt this, then get reliable help from the forums or someone you know personally, who knows what they are doing.

Otherwise you'll end up with a brick!

So go check out the PSP-modding forums and check youtube for how-to-guides, if you wish, but, seeing as you asked me, I advise you to get someone experienced with this process to do it for you, or to just leave it alone.

alright u dont have custom firmware u can not flash a psp 3000 so just get the chickhen mod it is limited but hey what works works right? anyways just look it up on google or youtube and u should find out how to use it i dont use it but my friend does.

Go to your PSP's Settings > System Settings >Restore Default Settings. The New Password will be 0000

You need to reset your PSP.
Note: You WILL LOSE ALL SETTINGS. I recommend writing down all of your settings before reseting.

Reset PSP:

• go to "settings", then "System Settings"
• scroll to "Restore Default Settings"

2 Messages will ask you if you want to continue. click yes to both.
Every thing will be reset, including the password.
Note: This will not erase your data on the Memory Stick.

Now the password will be reset to "0000"

Hi,
do you mean that it won,t read the UMD Disks.
If this is the case, you have a faulty Or weak laser unit or the UMD Drive is faulty.

go to setting --- select system settings --- restore default settings---

the password then should be set to 0000 so u can change your parent game setting/internet things.

go to settings and then reset your password

goto sysytem settings/restore default settings.

ok heres what you do 1. try blowing in the adapter slot 2. take out the mem. card & the battery for 24 hours 3. buy a new psp
