How do I connect my receiver to my amp or pre amp?

I have a Yamaha 3800 receiver and separate Mcintosh amp, separate turntable, separate Classe pre amp, and separate Esoteric CD player.

I know the CD player and turntable hook into the preamp and then the pre to the amp and the speakers to the amp. How do i connect to the receiver which connects to three zones in my house? Dumb question, but I'm new to this. Have bought some nice equipment but don't have the brains to get it to work.

    thanks,

    Mark A,

What to remember is pre-amp is before the amplifier then the amplifier to the speakers, go this route, Tuner for radio? from the radio tuner out go to the pre-amp tuner input, then from the pre-amp OUT go to the AMPLIFIER IN, tuner, cd, dvd, tv, any source, if you are using a 2 channel amp and pre-amp this is relatively easy, a little more detailed for multi-channel pre-amps and amps but follow the same path, sound source signal ie. tuner to pre-amp, pre-amp out to amplifier and speaker hookup to amp channels,

How can i hook up my kenwood stereo control amplifier KC-105 to my GPX home stereo system?

If the GPX has an headphone output you could use the a stereo headphone jack to two phono cables lead. Connect them to the "aux" socket of the amp, or another suitable - not a phono or deck - socket.
You would have to keep the volume level low on the GPX unit, but apart from that all the functions should work.

Two 4-OHM DVC AND two 4-ohm

your amp is stable at 2ohm in stereo mode . you can wire them in series or parallel. series you add up the ohms . parallel you use this (R1+R2)divided by(R1xR2)=total resistance this figures two speakers at a time to add more speakers after total repeat formula as long as you don't go below min load you are fine . in your case all speakers in parallel you would be running 0 ohms bad . in series you would be running 16 ohms stable but not even half the power of your amp. if you hook up two in parallel and two in series on one channel you are running 1.6 ohms still not stable. If i was u I would hook up two 4ohm speakers in parallel on one channel and two in parallel on the other given you a stable 2ohm per channel.
total power output per channel 1200w

Hooking up in Stereo

You'll need to use one of the four stereo inputs on the mixer and make sure you wire the speakers separately to channels one and two of the amplifiers. Assuming both of your amps are xti series amps, that's all you have to do.

Good Luck,
BB

Kenwood amplifier

A home stereo system is not complete without an amplifier which drives the speakers. A preamp cannot drive a speaker. Try to read the labels at the back of the system...if it reads speaker then that is the amplifier output. Would you mind giving us what model is your system?

Hooking up speakers to amp

YES ! This is usually ok, the speaker cabinet should contain a high pass filter or crossover on the tweeter to decouple it from the low frequency signals. My Linn Index speakers are wired like this.
