Question about Goodman GDS80703ANA Open Flame Mid-Size Heater
Put in a 2 year old furnace , have double checked all gas connections but everytime we fire up the furnace house is filled with gas smell not sure if its natural gas smell or exhausts any ideas ?????????
I have or have had the same problem you discribed and did check with leak detector and found a very small leakage of gas (LP) at the vent hole on the gas valve and only when the furnace is in operation. I have the same question basicly but want to know what the vent is for. It leaked after aorox 2 weeks after installation then stopped leaking so do not know what to do short of plugging the vent hole which is probably not recommended for sure. Based on your description I would guess that there is a "leak" somewhere between the gas valve and the actual fire. Use soap bubbles to check the connections at the gas valve. Also check the gaskets in the Gas valve the same way. Lastly there may be a cracked or misaligned burner causing the "leak". Best of Luck!
