my blackberry comes on but it but it has a white background with a tape on it

When you try to plugin the device for charging the battery

Try using a different battery. Possibility is battery may be depleting fast when you turn the phone on. If phone works with the new battery that means your battery needs to be replaced.

Slam the phone on a hard surface to get rid of dust in the connections. I suggest tile or cement.

Try taking the battery out for a minute. Then put it back in...it should reload on it's own.
